Flashed a stock UK Samsung Firmware instead of the crippled junk Orange put on it. No rooting or anything, but brave for me considering it's 2 days old and my wife's phone!

It's a Samsung bug covered a few times already. They've set launcher priority to 6 or something low like that when it should be 0 or 1. There are patches available that devs have made but you need to be rooted to apply them or you have to wait until Samsung release an update.

Hmm, I have Omega v5.2 (havent upgraded to 6.0 yet) which supposedly fixes the launcher redraw, but I still get it whenever the screen orientation changes. I tried the old Gingerbread tweak for the build.prop but didn't seem to work either.

For a while when ODIN just sat there, my heart truly sank and I was already rehearsing me justifying my rash actions that destroyed her new toy!

I'm sure it's faster too, well worth it, and in retrospect very easy. Can't believe there is a tool that allows this without rooting, very handy! Thanks again for your help!
 
Someone on XDA recommended changing the transitions to 0.5x to make the phone feel snappier. It now feels like it is twice as fast when changing programs etc. :D

Yep, these sites suck for customer service, but god some of those deals are way too tempting.

Would it be incredibly stupid to ram a 2tb sdcard into the phone. It sounds stupid and yet absurdly tempting.

I can't actually think of anything absurdly tempting about putting a theoretical (it wont exist for a while yet) 2TB card in a phone.

I have a large film collection. My productivity would hit 0, if i could fit THAT many of my films easily.

EDIT: Though tbh, I think I'd just watch Die Hard back to back anyway most of the time, so pointless.

It does feel very sudden but when swapping back to 1x it feels like I'm dragging a ball and chain. Definitely keeping it at twice the speed.

I just went into a office and was pounced on when they saw I had an S3. Lol.

Similar thing happened to me, at first felt great, didnt get access to my phone for 2 hours, that felt bad. D:

I could paste from a drop down menu when I first got the phone. (Not with the messaging) but I do think there's a bug with the paste function.
 
Longpress the text box to paste. If you have the new swype beta you can swype to a for select all, swype to xcv for the usual cut/copy/paste.

At the new rate it's only about a pound a month more oa, also don't only consider GG and 3 payg sims, there are some pretty sweet cash back deals on sim only high or unlimited data deals, best one 3 at £80 cb.
