Witch Doctor has its moments I'm finding. Once I hit 40 I overcame the extremely annoying problem of Mana costs going up and up and your Mana Regen staying the same.

Now its good fun encountering an elite, throwing up Fetish Army (90s recharge rune), throwing up the 80% snare and blocking them completely with a wall of zombies, then holding down right click and spamming Acid Rain onto the entire mob and watching it just melt away, literally.

Aye, fun class, but found the same problems. Only gets worse also :( hoping it all gets resolved in 1.1 as from Wizard, Demon Hunter and Witch Doctor - WD was definitely my favourite.

All very well increasing drop rates in Inferno .... but to be honest drop rates are broken even in Normal, Nightmare & Hell. This game is all about the Auction House(s) - where is the fun or sense in reward at having to constantly buy all your gear to progress ?

This game doesn't deserve to have Diablo in it's name - it's a pale imitation of the first two installments ( all imo of course ).

i totally understand the sentiments but you don't have to use the AH. i haven't at all, i'm now in Act 1 inferno, comfortably farming and everything I am wearing/using has been a drop. i managed to upgrade my gear through drops or vendors throughout all the difficulties, i did have to farm hell for a bit before i could take on much in inferno - but i expected that.

in the last few days of farming I've had some really good drops - 3 upgrades including an 800dps polearm with LOH and a 700dps polearm (i'm a monk).

the drop rates have improved since the last patch, certainly seemed to be more ilvl 60 and above dropping in both blue and rare form. i also got another legendary and recipe. anyone else's luck seem to improve?

not a bad evening's killing stuff (and germany went out :P )

I've put in nearly 300 hours on this game, rebuilt my DH after 1.0.3 to the point I can once again farm Act 3 pretty comfortably and I've come to the conclusion that what I enjoy the most is eeking out that little stat gain each day to make my character more powerful, to make that farming a little bit easier and a little bit faster.

However, what I REALLY want to be able to do, is get that incremental gain from drops I find myself, not from finding drops for someone else, trading on the AH for gold, using that gold to pay for something someone else found.

Once you reach a certain point this is pretty much impossible since you are looking for such improbable rolls that the only reason items like that even exist if because so many people are playing. I havent found anything I will equip myself at all for more than 2 weeks.

I hope the buffed drop rates help with this but I fear that the odds are still so low at my progression point of finding something usable that its not really gonna fix what feels fundamentally wrong.

I have no problem with playing the same character for a long time (I played the same char in everquest for over 10 years) but I need to see those little gains regularly to keep me going, and I want to get them from killing stuff, not from playing D3:Ebay.

The AH should augment the drops you find yourself, not replace them entirely.

The problem I'm finding isn't that I'm not getting level 63 drops, it's just that they always have poor damage.

I've had items drop with 150+ base stats, other handy bonuses, but I've only had a single item drop with more than 800dps. Other than that one I rarely get more than 600dps. In general they seem to be sub 300 :(
I seem to have far more luck with armour drops.

First legendary tonight which was god awful. At least I know I'm not colour blind

Same for me. What to do with a Legendary sword (lv57), with only 359DPS, and and no redeeming stats?:
90-179 Fire dmg
25% dmg
44 Strn
56 Dex
7% life
2.5% damage converted to life

Is it even worth bothering with AH?

I thought only level 60 and above give mats (brimstone or whatever they are called)?

Yeah I wasn't paying attention and salvaged some terribad legendary 2H Mace without noticing it was lvl58 so got ****. Maybe have a quick look on the AH and undercut everything but yeah, merch it otherwise.

Well I sold my Exalted Grand Sovereign Greaves plan last night. Up for 16.5mil, took home a cool 14mil (and tripled my bank balance).
