Who was into wrestling as a kid?

As a Kid, quite interested think I was like 4 or 5 watching on TV, But as I got older lost interested as I strated to know it was all fake lool.

Mid to late 70's, every Saturday afternoon with me Dad, World of Sport I think it was, on ITV; ah the memories. :)

Someone got me into WWF much later on for a while, around the time The Rock was up and coming. Brilliant stuff, I especially remember Mick Foley/Cactus Jack/Dude Love.

I was. I had the game on the NES. Did moves on each other in playground and bedrooms on mum and dads big bed as a soft landing. Then one day when I was about 7 I guess, I went round a friends house who was less naive than me, and he told me that it was fake. I was like... no... it's not. They laughed and pointed. I went home and asked Dad if it was true. I was shocked. I stopped watching it after that. Wasn't the same. This was late 80s.
Cool story eh? Bro.
I find it odd still, that people watch it knowing it's fake. Sometimes I watch when flicking channels and see it on, just for a few minutes, and it's just criiiinge.... I can't take it.

I used to love it as a kid, starting watching around 1996 and loved the Attitude era. It doesn't interest me in the slightest any more, especially with this "PG" bs they've brought in, it's just not entertaining.

This kinda stuff was awesome:

The angle Shane fallsat too I'm surprised that didnt break his neck

WWF or whatever is called is so stupid. Why watch a FAKE Show? You know none of the matches are real so why bother?

I used to watch WWF on Saturdays as a kid. I must have been like 6 or 7, can't remember.

Then WCW came to Five and I watched that all the time. My favourites (and still to this day) were Goldberg and Booker T. I loved the nWo and Wolfpac theme songs.

Then they went out of business or something and came the WWE Attitude Era. Unfortunately, we couldn't afford Sky back then so I missed out on the last 10 or so years of wrestling. Hence why I'm not a Rock or Steve Austin fan, and why I wanted John Cena to beat that motormouth. It's not my call who is better and I'm sure a lot of people bash John Cena, but it's not my fault I couldn't follow the Attitude Era.

Give it 10 years and then people will be saying how good John Cena was 'back in the days'.

Now I have Sky Go on my iPad and I watch WWE Raw and Smackdown every week :)

I know it's all fake and I don't deny that. But I watch it for the entertainment factor. Even my dad loves it now (his favourite is Undertaker lol).

God..the attitude ERA was awesome

i only watch my mates wrestling matches these days..goes by the name of Pac(currently in japan) got knocked out in the semi finals of the super j

Hulk Hogan, Ultimate Warrior, British Bulldog, Bret Hart, Andre the Giant, The Undetaker, Jake the snake Roberts, Macho Man Randy Savage, The Big Boss Man, The Million Dollar Man, Lex Luger, Yokozuna, Mr Perfect, The Legion of Doom, Shawn Michaels, Razor Ramon, 123 Kid...

they are the main ones I remember when I watched it.

My brother used to be really into wrestling/WWF.
When my sister and I were young, he would wrestle us for a laugh and that used to really annoy me.
Bully

You do understand the concept of 'entertainment' right?

I used to watch it when I was in comprehensive school. For some reason WWF was quite big then, I remember playing the games a fair bit and watching it cos it was good fun. Not seen it for a while though now.
