get home to find a murder in my street. nice.

apparently i'm now not allowed to use my car until the police have checked it

they're not even planning on starting checking until an hour after i need to use it tomorrow

options?

what an ****, he could have at least put some consideration into your travel plans before he went and got himself murdered, some people just have no manners these days

if the place was in walking distance i wouldnt be driving, would I?

Respect doesnt come into it.

I think you find it does, respect for someone else's family, granted it inconveniences you for a day? Sure you can understand it'll be harder for them in the long run, I also doubt you live miles and miles away from a bus within youre area?

According to his signature it is a Clubsport. This is one of those occasions where the car takes priority over the deceased.

I'm concerned about my ability to continue leading my life. Whether i use my own car, or my flatmate's diesel fiesta (which the same rules apply to) is neither here nor there.

Say i needed to go right now to deal with a family medical emergency, what do i do in that position?

Well, since you showed your true colours, I'll bite.

Yes, it is damn well about respect. If not for the victim at least for the people who now have to do their job, tick all the due diligence boxes and thoroughly work the scene so some murderer does not walk from court or, never get there in the first place.

You can respect that as part of a law enforcement and legal process your car might not be available as you had hoped; for all the inconveniences you could possibly suffer for half a day losing the use of your car is hardly going to destroy your year.

Stop making up hypothetical situations to try affirm your warped sense of being 'put out'. You do not have a family emergency, if you did you can work something out.

Man up. Or are you already looking for a claims line number to find someone to blame and compensate you?

Come on, stop being a ****, it won't affect your ability to do that, and IF you needed your car that much I'm sure the officer in charge would allow you to take it, you are just being short for the sake of it now.

Taxi.

Right

For the record, i am looking for ways i can legally minimise the impact on my day of this admittedly unfortunate event

If i am boned by the law then so be it

I am not here for moral judgement on my wish to use my car, i am here for valid points on whether it is possible.

So, is it?
