What film did you watch last night?

The Rise And Fall Of A White Collar Hooligan - 7.5/10

Not much in the way of football hooliganism but it did give way to a pretty good British crime drama that I quite enjoyed and it is based on a true story too.

Watched The Amazing Spiderman last night and although I was skeptical that rebooting Spiderman was too soon, I enjoyed it a lot and would recommend you watch it. 9/10

Am off to watch this later tonight at a vue extreme screen in 3D, looking forward to watching it with the missus, shes a huge spiderman fan whereas im not so much but still want to see what its all about as the trailers have looked quite good.

Watching this later, love a good british crime thriller.

How does it compare to say "Rise Of The Footsoldier" ?!?

Hmmm.. The two are totally different so I can't really compare. But it is different in a good way, so don't expect much hooliganism despite what the film title implies.
I would be interested to see what you rate the film, I was pleasantly surprised.

IIRC avengers is marvel and spiderman is DC (like batman is DC). im no comic geek though so not 100% sure. if he is DC its Justice League (maybe planning a movie with batman, wonderwoman and spidey)

No, Spiderman is a Marvel creation, but Sony own the film rights to Spiderman. The reason for the reboot is because the planned fourth film with Raimi and Maguire fell apart. Sony wanted to make another, so just went with a reboot instead.

It's just that the cover says it has "so and so" from ROTFS :)

Unfortunately, "reboot" means throwing away all the stuff that made the last version at least passably good, and replacing it with cliché after cliché. Not just the more obvious bits of the script, but even things like shots, effects, lighting, etc. Really, with the possible exception of a couple of bits "spider-vision" there is not a single original idea in it. 3/10.

Batman Begins.

I can't believe I've never actually seen it before! Only realized whilst watching it. Anyway, it was awesome. Really looking forward to the final part - I reckon I'll watch the second one tomorrow.

Gf hadn't seen any of the Nolan films, I was shocked, she thought they would be like the schumacher travesties.

immediately got her to watch them, she came away feeling like a muppet ha.

I've been schooling her with films since, she refuses to pick any til I pick a dud. 10 for 10 so far :p

Tucker & Dale vs Evil - Absolutely loved it, it was bad if you know what I mean, but very, very funny.

The 5 Year Engagement - 20 minutes too long but enjoyed this too. Two or three genuine lol moments.

The Amazing Spiderman - 7/10 - Worth watching but was a little disappointed. I think its too soon after the others to be 'rebooting'

American Reunion - 8/10 - Pretty much identical to the first 3! However they have always had a soft spot in my heart since I watched the first one in my first year of uni and so they have always reminded me of the good old days!
