That was kind of you. I felt that D3 has just about done away with that generosity given the GAH/RAH. It is no longer an easy decision to just give an item to a mate when you know you could make 5 million+ for it. I am in a similar situation where I found a one handed sword with:
780ish DPS
948 LoH
240 Dex
Do I give it to my mate for use on his monk or make some gold to better my own character!

It's actually near 5% to get an 63 now.
We're talking 55 - 65 rare packs in a full run and probably about 4 - 8 goblins. I'd say about 80 - 100 rares in a full run, so 4 - 5 63's per run @ 5%, not 2 in 3.5 runs.
In a way it does. MF increases the chance that the items that would drop from anything (chest, goblin, normal monster, champion pack) will be better quality (quality as in gray, white, blue, yellow, orange, green not iLvL). If the monster drops 2x 63 items and 1x 60 item and only the the 60 was yellow, MF could have helped turn those 63 white into yellows... but in a nutshell, MF just increases the chance that an item that drops will be of better rarity.

The last 2 days have been real bad for drops for me, some elites dropped no yellows at all and I ended up with less than a bag full of rares from an Act 1 run - all of which were rubbish.
i've decided to play something else for the time being, I really wanted it to grab me but there just isn't the regular drip, drip of good stuff to keep me interested. unfortunate as the monk is one of the best classes I've ever played

Me and a mate give eachother valuable stuff all the time. I find Barb stuff and i give it to my mate, he gives me Wizard stuff when he finds it. He gave me 600k yesterday for no apparent reason, i found some nice boots today that'll go for around 1mil on the AH that'll i'll give him though. I played D2 so i like this generosity and style of looting when playing co-op. Even gave a few good things to people here free of charge.

Its random, I had some horrible days where nothing but junk dropped no matter which act I tried. Then the next day some decent stuff falls out of the first 2 packs you hit. Random in D3 is very random!

If its level 60, no, not even close.
Cleared from just after Siegebreaker to Azmodan. Basically got nothing of value. Couple of items I stuck up for 17.5k and 40k but nothing else. It really is too much work to farm Act 3. Elites can cause so many problems. Compared with Act 2 where I can just spec WotB and EQ and not bother with War Cry, then stomp elites every 60s with 1 of the skills.

Mate had one last night, was beyond **** though.
I dont think 200, bit a fair amount. it's got reasonable DPS, high LoH and an empty socket.

Had a 828DPS weapon drop the other day with 98% Critical Damage and an Empty Socket, that sold for 100 euro's literally within less than an hour of me putting it on the RMAH.

It's depressing, but I have 15M gold and really struggling to find any worthwhile upgrades anymore, any I do see cost in the millions to get and are more sidegrades really.
The fact you can't see in the AH screen if something will actually give you extra dps is kind of annoying, especially when looking at things with lots of differing stats like Amulets, rings etc.
