You can't shoot people underneath you. It's a very boring glitch. You can however lay C4 on the roof and do it that way but it's very hit and miss as they have to be close to be in the radius

What platform ? And what makes BF3 so different to BF2 / BF2142 in this regard ?
 
Tank hunting, NEVER gets old! I've been away from BF3 for a full month+ now and last night on 24/7 I was there on Caspian, proning under the smoke of gas station I watched as a tank came to cap the point wondering WTF I was, waving around the turret like some kind of radar....I waited and slowly edged closer, I think the smoke was still hiding me a bit as his IR scope would have not seen me due to the fire anyway.

Planted 3 C4s and then ran off LOLOLOLOLOLing all the while :D

killing people with C4 was the most fun of had in a while

so funny :D

but now the assignment is done i wont be doing it again

anyone who needs an edbot kill want to meet up on an empty server?
 
My Q6600 bottlenecks me pretty badly on BF3, what settings are most CPU dependant and would yield the greatest improvement if i lower them?

(560ti)
 
Just run everything on low! Makes seeing things/people a lot easier! Turn off everything and increase ya fov = sorted!

How does it make it easier?

Tried lowering everything and I think I will just have to deal with frame drops. Even dropping from 1080p to 720p and all the settings I have similar FPS, CPU is limiting. It never goes below 30 but for some reason even dropping from 60 to 40 feels really jerky.
 
Its where, like using FXAA injector mod, you can gain an advantage over other people who dont use the same dasterdly tactics to either decrease the skill gap that you lack over your opponents or to increase the gap further if you are already better.

What they should really do is force a minimum of gfx settings for online mode that ensures visual parity for all, so everyone can see roughly the same.

The whole point of DX10/11 games is that the graphics are utilised to make people difficult to spot. Better colour gradients, better more realistic foliage etc..

if you want your opponent to stand out all the time why not use an old game where the graphics are blocky on max and the same for all?

If people want to play on low, then they have every right to.

I play on low because I am running a 4850 512MB GPU at 1080P, would you like me to put everything to max just so I am not "cheating" and therefore run at like 5 FPS :rolleyes: (even if I had a 680 or something better, I would probably keep the game set to medium and some high settings because I don't want ultra as it makes things look blurry and harder to spot)


Oh and I still use the FXAA injector and have no intentions of dropping it, better report me ;)

Also some people don't like all the **** that floats around in the air and makes it even harder on the eyes to spot things, the game isn't for "sight seeing", purely to point your gun in the direction of the bad guys and shoot.


No worse than the camping noobs sat in a corner all day spamming mortar, noobtube etc.

Pretty sure that for a lot of people the aim of the game isn't purely to "point your gun in the direction of the bad guys and shoot." I think a vast number of people play to enjoy the gameplay and immerse themselves in the environment including enjoying the rich graphics the engine can offer.

Fair enough if you lower settings to increase your FPS and make the game run more smoothly, but putting your settings on low and depriving yourself of all the advances the graphical engine can offer just to give yourself a slight edge against others seems a bit over the top. All that stuff floating around just adds to the gameplay in my view - it makes the environment non-static and ever changing so you really have to look for the enemy rather than just reacting to the only obvious movements in the game world.

It's why I'm not a competitive gamer I guess. I play to enjoy the game and getting one up on my opponents in just part of the fun, not the only objective.
 
I just tried to join the 247 server for my first game in weeks.

9th in queue. No big deal, just joined and surfed the web while waiting. Went back 10 minutes later, first in queue! Great. Carry on surfing. Few minutes later, look again.

"Could not connect to Battlelog"

Reconnect. 6th in queue.

**** you EA.
