At least FFP is now once and for all proven to be nothing.

AC will now come in for any of Dzeko, Tevez or Kolarov. I won't be happy to see any of them leave but Mancini knows what he is doing.

City fan in wanting FFP to be pointless shocker =/ its hard to love Football these days.

/me skulks back to his writing

So it looks like Rodallega is off to Fulham as it looks like Dempsey is going to Liverpool.

But if he wants to go for Fulham for a slightly larger wage that he would have gotten at Everton, then he's not the sort of player we should be going for.

He wouldn't get much/any more wages with us than Everton, we're strict on wages.

Arsenal still sounds very likely for Dempsey - only team to have made a bid apparently. Who knows with Fulham though :p

By Rodallega you are talking about the lad at Wigan aren't you? Why on earth would either club want him? :p

This was mentioned a couple of pages back but do you seriously have to post the entire articles like that?

It's just pointless. Post an important snippet and a link to the article, sure, that's great, but just posting it like that is silly.

What's the problem? Doesn't break anything does it? Got no issue with articles being quoted in full personally.

There's nothing wrong with it as such. I guess it's personal preference, I think the way cm1179 just copy & pastes articles looks a mess (the 5 line gab between the 2 of the paragraphs for example). It would be easier reading if he at least quoted the content of the article though.

Although I rate Dempsey I'm not convinced at £8.2m he would be the right player for Arsenal right now, there's only so many attacking players you can fit into the team.

Even if RvP were to be sold and Arshavin not sign a new deal that still leaves a dillemna of where you would fit Dempsey in... you'd have a forward line of Podolski, Giroud and Walcott with a midfield presumably of Wilshere (Rosicky/Ox until he's fit), Song and Arteta. Dempsey would basically as I see it be in competition for places with Rosicky, Ox, Walcott and possibly Gervinho. I know you need a squad but £8.2m plus wages for a player of his age to sit on the bench doesn't sit too well with me. Would rather spend £15m and get somebody who could improve the team (DMC for example). Wenger has a history of buying a bunch of players for £8-12m (Gervinho, Ox, Podolski, Giroud, Arteta, Nasri, Mertesacker, Vermaelen, Reyes, Henry, Jeffers, Sagna, Walcott, GvB etc) and then hoping half of them come off but I'm not sure that is the right approach anymore.

He's a natural goal scorer though - increased goals every season since joining us. It's where he'd fit into Arsenal as you say, he plays best on the left wing or floating behind strikers sometimes. Liverpool he'd be a starter I'd say. Be interesting to see what happens, he said he would leave for Champions League so going to Liverpool when he could wait another season is odd.

Liverpool would pay the most going by last season though..!

He had a poor season but in the right club he could be very good, tall, strong and quick.

Still rumours of Dempsey to Liverpool with Carroll to us (loan im guessing :p!) - can't see it though.

Apparently Rodallega is done according to some colombian website;

"I had higher aspirations as a player and I can meet the Fulham" said Rodallega, who will continue in English football after playing for three seasons at Wigan club he escaped down the Premier League twice.

"If fortunately I have everything arranged with Fulham at night and sign the contract with the team, they will buy my sports rights and would be a contract for three years," said 26-year striker in an interview with the radio program JaimeDinas.com in Cali.

Since this issue has been mentioned by others I'll chime in. I wouldn't have said anything as it's not particularly offensive, but usually I don't like it unless it's a very short item. Aside from poor forum etiquette it is a breach of copyright and should be regarded no differently than copying and pasting a book or uploading a pirate game or film.

I believe short quotes are allowed by copyright law, with a link or credit to the source, but the short quote shouldn't copy or summarise all of the key points and should be more of a headline - the original article must not be devalued so that anyone reading a quote would have an incentive to seek the original.

I must confess to some hypocrisy here as in the past I have quoted short articles in full or overly summarised all of the main points, but it is wrong and usually forum rules are against posting pirate or material in breach of copyright.

What I find slightly odd about cm1179's quotes is that they're in italics rather than in a quote box, even though the quote tags button is on the same line as the italics tags button. cm1179, you nonconformist rebel :p

Well if the Rodallega deal to Fulham is true, then I'm glad we avoided him.

As I pointed out earlier, if he's going to reject a deal to go to Everton to go for Fulham for higher wages - then he's not really the sort of player who we want at Goodison Park.

see underlined part. really?

as i've said, if a mod has a problem with copy and paste, i'll stop it. other than that, i really don't see a problem with it. i often link to tabloid articles, they often have flashy images next to the article, not great for furtive viewing at work etc.

Did Everton actually offer a deal? Like I said - we wont have offered much/any higher. Plus for someone coming from Wigan, London is much more attractive :p. We've been after him since January afaik.

Yes, it really is a breach of copyright! google fair use rules and copyright copying news articles.

You're not going to get the speculative invoicing trolls sending you letters demanding compensation, but anyone who has been using NewsNow or similar news aggregaters for a few years is probably aware that they stopped including stories from News Corp publications because News Corp got very aggressive over the copying of their headlines only, even though it was a link to the original story.

It makes it a mess to read, really.

At least if it's in quote tags it's better, but still posting a whole article is a bit much, a snippet or bolding important parts makes for better reading.

It's also just like a news feed and usually there is no added opinion. I usually find it interesting to read about other clubs and their fans opinions etc rather than link/paste and run.

As far as I've been told by someone who is very much ITK, we have gone in for him and up until this week - he was odds on to sign by the 18th.

PSG at it again I see!

Re Rodallega, there is us, Fulham, Stoke and Sunderland who he has all talked.
