If it is thin and rectangular, then it's fair game to Apple! I also feel that the US need to apply more scrutiny when awarding patents to decide if an idea is truly novel or simply an obvious 'solution' (e.g. use of NFC to checkin at an airport... how can this be a truly novel idea???)

I like Apple products, and I like Android products, but I do feel that Apple are the main protagonists in all the courtroom battles. It is the public that are suffering from lack of choice when products are removed from shelves.

What amazes me is that (IMHO) few people seem to see Apple's actions to ban Android phones and tablets as an admission that either (a) Apple's products are not as superior vs the competition as they would have you believe and they fear competition, or (b) their customers (ie those people going into a shop specifically looking for an iPad) are so stupid that they can't differentiate between an iPad and a Galaxy Tab. Either of these explanations should be drawing serious heat on Apple - they are clearly thinking of themselves and not their customers!
 
I just wish Google would make an announcement about when we're getting them.

Come on Google this is 2012, a time of easy information which you lot help supply. How about supplying us with some ffs.

I heard that Apple have a patent on actual shipment dates. Google are playing it safe.
 
I wonder if Apple have patented the word genius, even though their definition isn't the same as anyone else's.
 
Is there going to be a massive own goal from Google here? High Street shops stocking it before Play store orders being delivered?

lol :D always cracks me up hearing the Apple clan actually refer to those people as a "genius".. I mean seriously... what is the world coming to ^^

I thought the google play store states that they don't take payment for pre-orders until they are actually shipping?

They took payment out from me yesterday so i have a feeling they are getting ready to ship them very soon if not now?
 
Depends on how you pay? Usually when you order, they will put a 'marker' on your account which will reserve the amount needed for the order so that when they want payment, the money is there. At least with debit cards..
