Genuinly speechless right now - neighbour just told me something ...

Well, to be fair there is another cat that looks exactly the same in our street so we just assumed.

Oh also, my dad had to go to her and ask her if she had seen our cat, so she obviously didn't even have an intention of telling us ... i'm so speechless.

but you clearly must have noticed you hadn't been feeding it or giving it a bed to sleep in? so this would have been a tell tale sign surely. or are you saying it was your cat because you purchased it, but you let your neighbour look after it, feed it, give it somewhere to sleep and paid for its injections......and then shocked they didn't feel the need to tell you about it?

Sorry to tell you this but your Mum knew & is just covering herself so she don't get your attitude.
While I'm at it have this as well so you can get over both Traumas in one hit.

She would come ours and eat etc then our neighbours started feeding her also because she was always outside and stuff.

Her sister is still with us, obviously we got their injections and things.

Yes but for a YEAR. If you hadn't fed it for a YEAR or got injections for a YEAR or touched it for a YEAR...

I'm genuinely speechless, but for a completely different reason.

:edit: Did they even know it was your cat?

Over the last few years she went to the neighbours to eat because they fed her a lot, so she got double helpings here and there. Then we just assumed she started to stay there a bit more often.

a bit more often would be you didn't see it for 3 or 4 days, maybe a week, but surely after 1 month, 2 months, 3months.....something must have clicked it wasn't 'a bit more often' but actually 'NEVER!!!!'

And by a 'bit' you mean a year? LOL gone from sympathy to nearly bad owners territory :p

Must admit when I popped to the shops for a bit I missed the whole of 2011 somehow myself...

ps3ud0
