Straight away though? Surely if you went from once a week to twice you would be tight for a bit? I'm speculating here as I've not done it

Depends on recovering and spacing between days. Also if there was a good jump in weight (which im guessing there wasnt here). Although nothing abit of mobility (pre squat vid) and warmup wouldnt cure.

The fact you deload quite a lot at the start of SL probably helps with that. I also supplement with BCAA (training fasted) and this makes a dramatic difference to recovery ime.

Also 170lbs for a leg press is a joke. The stack at my small cardio bunny gym goes to 505lbs, I remember because I max'd if out on my induction lulz. Instructor was miring my fatboy leg strength, shame it doesn't translate to squats at all.

Oops thought the one you were talking about was at your current gym

Nah the one here is in inclined plate loaded one, rather amazing really.

I use to hate using it during the summer since I couldn't squat and it didn't make progress towards my totals.

Since my injury and surgery though, it's been simply great.

No rep gets pushed unless those knees either touch or are about 1-1.5cm from touching my chest :D

After a total of 125 reps it certainly feels like I've been squatting.

Decided to 'play' with my overhead press day today.. Managed to do 70kg for 3 reps :D So much for being stuck at 67.5! I know its only a 2.5kg difference, but Overhead Press has always been a pain in the ass for me and always struggled with it.

Strong OHP. I've given up on BB OHP for now and gone back to dumbells. Must be the only exercise where DB strength is higher, 27.5kg's for 8 today, max OHP is 47.5x5........wtf.

Strict or push press?

Are your wrists in the same alignment when OHP DBs as they would be with BB? Makes a massive difference for me.

I suspect that is the difference, I do try my best to keep my wrists/forearms nicely square/parallel and so on but DB's obviously give you plenty of leeway in that regard.
I think my shoulders are going to be slightly more internally rotated using DB's, think EZ curl vs straight bar (though not nearly as much).

well 2nd session back and i feel a lot better this time. role on monday for my next session :D

dropped 2lbs so im now a nimble 322lbs :P

20 mins cross trainer.
bench press. 8x60kg, 8x80kgx2, 7x60kg.
squat 8x60kg, 8x80kgx3.
deadlift. 8x80kgx3.

Weighed myself the other day, just under 11st  was hovering around 10st before! Certainly the heaviest I have ever been! I know I've put on a bit of fat (only around the stomach ) but I have certainly grown some muscle elsewhere!
