*** The Official Google Nexus 7 Thread ***

Very tempted to pick one of these up when I get paid, I've been very impressed with my first foray into droid on my s3.
As it doesn't have expandable storage does anyone know if it'll work ok with a USB OTG cable and a pen drive?

Yes it does, with an app - Stickmount.

I believe you have to root the device and use an app called StickMount for the pen drive to work.

My question follows on from this... Once you root the device, does it mean that certain apps won't work, like SkyGo (once they release a version for ICS devices)?

I still can't decide where I want to order one from, since that 16GB deal is student discount only I suppose an 8GB one is the way to go and then USB-OTG media.

One thing is for sure, it won't be play.com....HAH!

This will actually come in very handy in Feb when on holiday and I can finish the Walking Dead comics on it I guess :D

What shop was that Android pouch bought from?

Edit*
NM going to buy this:

Do you know the 7 will fit OK in this then?

One assumes that they've got the measurements correct.

Cheers

i ordered the coffee one, but pink, white and some sort of off green as well.

Shame they don't do a black one. Might go for the brown one.

Need a screen protector now, saw a screenshot on xda where a chap had managed to scratch his.

Sky are releasing the ICS version of GO, just as Jelly Bean get released.

*Sigh*.

Retailers really are very very stupid arnt they, what's to stop the next more likly more popular hyped tablet ( if this one is sucessful), NOT being send to ANY physical shop retailer as they will remember what they did.

So when are Google Play sending theirs out?

And can anyone tell me how fast the Chrome Browser feels on it?

Judging from the conversation I had with CS, they will ship Tuesday for a Thursday delivery.. expect a shipping e-mail Monday/Tuesday. It started off with 'expect a shipping e-mail in the next couple of days, but then said "When you get your shipping e-mail on Tuesday..

For those wanting to cancel, we should be able to phone the courier and tell them not to bother delivering and send it straight back to save them the hassle..

Should hopefully get my one I ordered on the 29th June from a retailer before I even get the shipping e-mail from Google..

I'm not that bothered, other then I'd happily have paid the £19 extra if Google managed to get it to us a little early, but they've dropped the ball and can't match retail now since all retailers show 16th July as the ship date..

Very fast.

Amazing, the sync with my book marks and tabs on other devices is great.

Its very quick, and it has a neat feature that if things get too small, it enlarges them automaticly so you can pick the correct link:

I am a bit miffed then, exactly whats the point of a pre-order?, seeing plenty of people now able to just walk in and buy one today!?

Very fast.

It's fast but stock JB browser on the Galaxy Nexus is faster. It's a shame they didn't include it.

I switched from Chrome (have had it since it came out) to the JB browser on my GN, because of the speed increase.
