*** The Official Google Nexus 7 Thread ***

Maybe, not that I'd be bothered. 85% of the time I'll be using it in the dark in bed or on a train/boat etc.
 
Well mine is coming from the online shop who are now saying 3rd August. I ordered it last Friday when they were saying 19th July, i hope that means I'll get it this Friday! If google are shipping this evening, what are they chances that they'll update the play store with new order shipping estimates???
 
Not sure if it's been posted already, but the Nexus 7 is now available for next day delivery via Currys. The pre-order date has gone.

I preordered it with Currys 2 weeks ago, but I haven't got any shipping confirmation yet. Perhaps it's coming straight from the Google warehouse (I think it's in Ireland).
 
Well II logged onto my online account, nothing has actually been taken from my card but I noticed the amount of available credit is the right amount that been taken off it lol.

Hmm... Wonder if the warranty stays with currys or google?
 
i hope it is coming from ireland, i might get it on 1 day shipping then as i live in northern ireland (the reason i ordered it from play store was because said other etailer would charge me for postage anyways and it would take 2-3 days to post)

that said, ordered mines on 29th, still no charges to my card.... boo! lol
 
Just about to pull the trigger on one of these, but from reading this thread I still can't tell if anyone has managed to get hdmi out of this thing?
 
It doesn't have hdmi out, ifixit said it did but they got mixed up with the cable they had knockng round for the Q.

They are a UK retailer and as such they are as I understand it required to honour the one year warranty in store regardless of how often they tell you to speak to google.

The demo units Google staff were using to present on at I/O had HDMI out on them, there are a few pics kicking around the web of those.

In the teardowns, a few people have noted that there are some extra pins spare on the mainboard which may be HDMI.

Maybe when someone gets a custom ROM running on the Nexus 7 and gets happy with a soldering iron we will know for certain.
 
I pulled the trigger too after much thought. Ordered from PC World who have stock, should have it by the end of the week.
