*** The Official Google Nexus 7 Thread ***

Just called Currys, they must have stock now as they are offering next day delivery. However warranty isn't directly with them. :(

i hope it is coming from ireland, i might get it on 1 day shipping then as i live in northern ireland (the reason i ordered it from play store was because said other etailer would charge me for postage anyways and it would take 2-3 days to post)

that said, ordered mines on 29th, still no charges to my card.... boo! lol

They are a UK retailer and as such they are as I understand it required to honour the one year warranty in store regardless of how often they tell you to speak to google.

They will deal with it if you take it into store but it will go to google. Same with Samsung and Asus.

Well, I'm going to order from Currys website tomorrow with next day delivery.

If mine does arrive faulty, I'll be covered by DSR anyway so that can put my mind at rest a bit.

Think they'll still be in stock tomorrow?

I've just been skimming over this thread the last few days but what is with your extreme paranoia Tom_D? :D

Every product has the odd few that go wrong, you make it sound like this one is doomed. Made by a single man in his shed with no components or know-how.

Can someone who has one let me know how iPlayer looks on it? It tends to look terrible on my S3 for some reason so just wanted to hear how it looks on the Nexus 7.

it currently doesnt run iplayer apparently due to flash no longer being supported... shouldnt be long before theres an update tho as iplayer on apple products uses HTML5 instead of flash so the html5 libraries etc are there...

Good on you Tom, I can imagine how hard it was to come to the decision. Really hope you get a perfect one and don't have any problems.

Yeah just read the reviews on google play - as an actual license payer I'm kind of bumbed that the bbc dont seem to give a monkies about android yet make sure the iOS version works perfectly. Hopefully you're right about it getting updated soon!

well its a jellybean thing more than anything else, flash is dead, the more jellybean devices that come out, the more pressure bbc will be under, especially as google tv etc should be launching here sometime too, that runs off android and will no doubt be running off jellybean too... patience or forcing the flash .apk onto the N7 seems to be the options tho lol

Just checked my account, £208 odd has been taken but won't show up for a day or so, I take it that's the Google Order..

And shockingly I just noticed Currys the naughty peeps took £189 on the 2nd July for a pre-order.. that's pretty low taking the money straight away with no product to show, might have to have words with them about that..

Well it still looks awful on my S3 and my mates S2 - neither of which are running Jellybean. Seems more like an overall android problem to me regardless of flash support

html5 is a better option reguardless of flash being discontinued so i'd like to think we'll see a marked improvement. i only have the galaxy s1 and its decent on that, but its such a small screen compared to the s2 and s3
