*** The Official Google Nexus 7 Thread ***

Currys are being a nightmare, talking to the most pompous arrogant little **** ever, telling me in store they'll have to test it because it doesn't affect general use.

I'm sure if you bought mail order you have the right to return it because you don't like it when seen in person, let alone a fault like this where the screen isn't clipped in properly. At least one person broke their non gorilla glass screen when pressing on the raised part.

Don't even discuss it. DSR it for refund.

Other than fingerprints all over the thing mine seems perfect, obviously whoever packaged it wasn't wearing gloves.

It's a minor bedding defect, not a screen about to fall out.

I am reminded why I keep out of these threads usually. There's nowt as strange as folk, and OcUK has a lot of folk. :-)

No, but it could get worse?

I'd have to see it before I could decide whether it's going to be a problem or not.

I don't think that makes me (or everyone else in agreement) 'strange'. Saying that you're happy for something to be faulty just because it wasn't as expensive as something else, well, that's strange.

I'll put up with panel gaps on my £200,000 Ferrari, because well, you expect it, it's not a £1,000,000 Bugatti Veyron. ;)

No. It has landscape mode for browsing, but you need to enable it.

THank god for that, been looking about the menus in system and Chrome and I cannot seem to find anything.

Ahh of course how obvious, its in Accessibility, would be stupid to put it with "Display" settings or anything like that..right!?

Odd thing, but saying using Chrome on mine, it wont Auto rotate to landscape mode, do I have to turn it on or something?

Swipe down from the top to get the notification bar, and uncheck the screen lock.

Well Currys are going to pick it up on Friday, the woman I spoke to had no idea what I was trying to explain. It is only a small issue and not very noticeable so I'll hazard a guess and say they wont issue the refund. :/

I'm sure you're allowed to reject goods. I'm with you on this, I don't care how expensive something is, if it isn't how it should be then it's going back!

Got any images?

Can you post a picture of the issue? Please

Thanks

James

Even if there's nothing wrong with it you can still return it.

I would've just DSR'd it then you would be guaranteed a refund.
