*** The Official Google Nexus 7 Thread ***

If the screen is starting to come out of the casing, that's not just a 'meh' thing.

Also, "Apple types" and "the real world"... what on earth?! Are you saying that just because something is expensive it won't have faults, and vice versa?

Be nice to see a picture of it.... I've just checked mine and it looks ok, but its in a case so I'll not be looking too much anyway.

Well Currys are going to pick it up on Friday, the woman I spoke to had no idea what I was trying to explain. It is only a small issue and not very noticeable so I'll hazard a guess and say they wont issue the refund. :/

For someone with such an attention to detail you seem to be missing a lot of posts here. You don't need any 'reason' to return under the DSR.

Am I the only one that could see this situation happening days ago though? Why no pics?

Mine arrived and looks like I am lucky. Perfect build quality, no dead pixels and easy to get out the box. The rubber back is great, feels like you can throw it onto the desk. Jelly Bean is as smooth as they say :D

@Em3bbs

Because it is only noticeable under the magnifying glass and certain test conditions!!!!! :D

I can just imagine him unboxing it and getting the vernier calipers and microscope out. Seriously, did anyone think this would turn out any differently? :D

As I mentioned above, I ordered mine on 30 June, and have still not even received the order update email - even though a friend of mine ordered one over the weekend and it's due to be delivered tomorrow.

Also, I've just been told by my credit card company that Google charged my card on Monday, and that they therefore now have my money, even though they said that they would only take payment when they were dispatching the order.

As I also mentioned earlier, I gave-up trying to speak to them on the phone after waiting for 40 minutes.

I've sent Google notification of my decision to cancel, via Wallet, although I still haven't received a reply to an email that I sent via Wallet 8 days ago.

I'm going to refuse delivery, which will avoid the cost of returning.

However, under the DSR I'm still liable to pay Google's £10 postage costs.

I'm thinking of arguing that I'm due a full refund as they charged my card several days before shipping, contrary to their assurance to the contrary.

I'll never order direct from Google again.

You sent Google Commerce Ltd an email with the subject: I have other questions about this order
Message: "Can I please get some free Android stickers that I can slap on the back of the shiny new Nexus 7 and also my Galaxy S3? If not then any other cool Android stuff like that? Hey, if you don't ask you never get! :-P"

Google Commerce Ltd received your order.

Worth a shot :p

If you refuse delivery, the will refund everything according to their own T&C's (which are inline with DSR).

GP T&Cs said:
If a Device cannot be successfully delivered because you have provided incorrect or incomplete delivery information, the Device will be returned to Google. In that case you will not be charged for the Device (or charges already incurred will be reversed using the initial payment method in your Google Wallet account), but you may be charged for shipping and handling (and such charges will not be reversed). If a Device is not successfully delivered for any other reason you will not be charged at all and all charges will be reversed.

So assuming you inputted your correct address when purchased, refusing delivery ensures a complete refund.

Just recieved mine an hour ago, only opened the box and going to read through the quick start guide and sort some things out before i sit down to play with it.

Just a note of warning to those awating theres...the box was extremly hard to open, you have to push the bottom or top with extreme force to wedge out the box from the sleeve then with one hand pull the sleeve from the box,i tried pushing the box out but it seems almost stuck to the sleeve, however if u just pull the sleeve it comes right off haha,i didn't learn that until 10 mins of trying to get it out.

I have herd people ripping the sleeve apart just to get it out so be careful when getting it out if u want to preserve the sleeve.

I must say it feels heavier than i thought it would be (coming from an ipod touch i guess this would be natural) and the screen seems a lot bigger than i thought it would be also, mind you i never have owned a tablet before just a psp and a ipod touch and it seems massive compared to those.

Will post an update after i have played with it,will be my first time to use android so will take a while to know where everything is i guess.

Well Yodel are a bunch of lying ******** They said they had tried to deliver, and left a card! I cant even go to the depot, it shuts at 6 and the van driver wont be back before then....

So after sitting in my house all day waiting for my package the delivery status changed to "Please Call". I called up TNT and they told me that they had a problem because Google only wrote "71 Nottingham" on the package.

I hate them so much. So much.

As long as they have your post code they should be able to deliver it to you?

Errmmm. It just arrived now, 2minutes after the woman on the phone told me it would be coming tomorrow.

It was obviously easier just to send the driver over the correct details and see if they'd be able to fit it in today rather than carting it back to the depot.

He told me he had been requesting the address since 10am but they never got back to him. I'm a little annoyed because it did have the Post Code on the package despite them saying it didn't.
