I'm starting to like the sound of Clyne the more I think about it.
Wouldn't have Richardson right midfield though, his assists come from overlapping who ever is on the right (Guly mostly this year) creating a lot of space for him self, don't think his game has enough to beat people in the middle. The same thing worked well for Butterfield in his couple of games last year where he would get assists from the same space.
Does mean we are very sorted at right back now with Clyne, Richardson, Butterfield (with one year on his contract) and Stevens coming through slowly.
Rodgers has confirmed that we've made an enquiry for Dempsey but that's all there is to that at the minute and said that we're not looking to loan out Carroll - however, "the same as every other player", if an offer comes in then the club will look at it:

I just don't understand what on earth we'd do with RVP. Get rid of Hernandez? Get rid of Welbeck? Where would we put Kagawa?

Doesnt help Hernandez admittedly but play Welbeck wide? I know there are three players ahead of him, and it isnt his preferred /better position - but SAF has played him there on a few occasions even before last season
Would it be great to see RVP at OT, without doubt - at the expense of a midfielder (not that any we appear to be interested in are that cheap mind).... probably not
God knows how they would fit though (Kagawa / RVP & Rooney) without one of those three wide which would undoubtedly waste at least one if not two players (ie the natural wide player who wouldnt be playing as well)

Scholes isnt a holding / defensive mid as his tackling is hmmmm "full -on" lets say
He is a deep -laying AM (similar to Modric)
Anderson isnt good / consistant enough to rely on
