Nice to see Liverpool bullying Fulham into selling Clint Dempsey.

Class acts as usual.

Was expecting Pienaar to sign today (yesterday), but it look like it'll have to be later on this week - or even next.

You're dealing with Levy so expect it to drag on to the 31/8/2012 on the hour of the deadline, actually maybe the January transfer window.

We're supposedly getting him on a free now, so I can't really complain.

The kid is an absolute class act on the left, I don't understand why Spurs aren't more entitled to play him on a regular basis.

Oh well, their loss is our gain I suppose!

The Daily Mirror (I know :p) are reporting tomorrow that SAF is confident he's bagged RVP for £20m.

Hope its true, I suppose he's marginally better than Welbeck.

I just don't understand what on earth we'd do with RVP. Get rid of Hernandez? Get rid of Welbeck? Where would we put Kagawa?

Midfielder Fergie, Midfielders.

With Rooney & RVP up front who needs a midfield :p

All Rodgers said was "its no secret we've shown interest in the player, the valuations were worlds apart however so lets leave it at that"

Hardly bullying, the amount of abuse on various forums we're getting over it is shocking considering the antics 'Arry used to get up to and no one batted an eyelid .

We need a better central midfield, if anyone should see this it should be Fergie. We spent how many years dominating games because we had by far the best pairing in the middle. We now rarely dominate even the smaller teams and often get outplayed against the better sides because we're coming up against 2 man midfields that do the job better, or more frequently 3 man midfields that outplay us easily.

It's a bit silly that the problem still exists after a number of years, going for all these attackers doesn't solve the issue, and it doesn't help them having a weak midfield behind them anyway.

Id take Rooney in midfield. with practice, his passing and vision could be as good as Scholes.

You're either massively overhyping Rooney there or grossly under appreciating Scholes. Not a chance Rooney could ever be as good as Scholes.

It doesn't matter anyway because apparently we play long ball football so RVP will get his assists from Rio (the kind of hoof ball) and co ;) :p

Hence the point I made about practice, when he has played there its not really the position he has been playing all the time. With practice, are you saying then, that he doesn't have the ability to achieve the same level Scholes has with regards to vision and passing?

I didn't once say he should throw him straight in there now.

Not to speak for OMS but yes that's exactly what I'm saying

Have any of you actually seen Rooney in midfield?! He gets caught on the ball constantly even when he's up front, in midfield it's painful to watch.

When he was at Everton I remember him being played off the left of Campbell/Ferguson and being able to run at opposition players.

I would say that at United he's been helt back from doing this.

Still an awesome footballer though.

It makes me laugh that just because Rooney likes to ping long balls around the pitch sometimes, people think he can be the next Scholes. :o
