I bet there's a pikachu special edition on the way! Followed the traditional Samsung pink tabloid version, with extra cute sparkly gloss for Katie Price, Jodie Marsh and Robbo. ;)

are the colours likely to be true and if so time scale before out? i'm going to pick up sgs3 in blue next couple days from tmobile store but want it in green and would happily wait another month if it'll be out soon

I'd say any new colours within a month or two are extremely unlikely, especially green.
 
I was thinking that with Samsung sponsoring the Olympics that they might bring out colours to compliment the 5 rings

I'm still not sure about my blue s3
 
Hey guys,

I'll be receiving my Samsung Galaxy S3 tomorrow through the post.

The phone will be orange branded... I'm on O2. What software will I need to download in order to make it look like a unbranded SGS3? Maybe somebody could point me in the right direction to the latest unbranded firmware if that's all I'd need to do?

I've also seen a sim unlocking app (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.projectvoodoo.simunlock)

It says I'd need "root" for this to work? I'm not sure what that is.

Sorry for the noob question. I've never used an Android device before! My previous device was a BB 9900.

Hi, you'll want to do the following:

Get Odin and the latest firmware (I9300XXBLFB) from the below link, and then follow the instructions on that page. It's fairly straight forward.

After that, for root access, you'll want to go this thread:

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1695238

Then follow the instructions in the second post. Again, you're effectively doing the same thing as you did for the firmware, just with another file.
