*** The Official Google Nexus 7 Thread ***

Arghhh! Just had a closer look and I haven't got the dreaded screen fault!!!

Just felt the need to balance up the good v bad comments on the N7. :p

And for anyone that doesn't know, you can now order with Argos online for a 2 day delivery window. Seems most of the high street stores will be stocking these next week.

Ordered mine from Tescos - hope it doesn't have this fault.

I'm hoping it arrives tomorrow - it's still in 'To be dispatched' status.

It doesn't get any better :(. On further investigation, there appears to be a small dent on the side, right were the screen raise is. Not easy to photo, so I've circled it in the pic.
Perhaps this is the cause of mine? Definitely not been dropped or knocked, it has been in my Mofi case when not in use. It's going back tomorrow.

Holy mother!

Put mine under a microscope and found this on my screen!

Their have also been people reporting dents across their device aswell. I'll no doubt get quoted again for mentioning this along with a roll eyes, but it's true.

Seriously people are getting all raged about that tiny (extremely tiny) lift?

You don't even notice that in normal viewing angles (seriously why on earth would you look at the device from that extreme angle in the first place?), I wouldn't have even noticed it myself if you didn't highlight it.

If it doesn't affect normal usage as in quality of screen, touch screen sensitivity etc. then why worry?

Obviously if it gets worse and it does affect the above then return it.

A lot of "tom_d's" in this thread now :p

Mine has a very slight dent in the same place, must be some sort manufacturing fault.

All this talk of returning because of a slight raise seems extreme.

If I've read the Google Play store t's & c's right, you only get 15 days from delivery to return a device, so it's a pretty short time frame to decide.

I am sure that if the device starts to have serious problems where it does affect normal/standard usage then you would have every right to return it or at least get it fixed?

After 15 days I think the warranty gets transferred to Asus and I hear they're a nightmare to deal with.
