Apart from the screen raise mine was perfect so took a leap of faith and removed the black sponge. Now its perfect. Sat flush. Cannot work out why that sponge was even there. Its not holding anything in or down, that's what the black tape is for. The adhesive is still present. Weird design flaw.

im so glad mine seems to be trouble free, a bit sad to see ASUS still havent got any good QC yet, not as bad as the Transformer Prime launch yet!

Still not really sure if these issues are likely to be addressed in the future manufacturing runs or its somthing that is here to stay with this tablet. I won't be getting mine for another few weeks anyway.. hopefully the dodgy ones will be out the way by then.

id realy like to use nexus 7 as a GPS. might have to put an NFC sticker in my car to enable my phone as a wifi hotspot to pair with the nexus for turn by turn navigation

Yes I know. But its an option if peeps can't be bothered to send it back to Google.

At first I was like 'oh ****', but now I think its an non issue. It doesn't affect the tablet one bit.

So now I will shut up about it and just focus on the N7 :cool:

Sponge removed but nah, its still raised and slightly spongy on the left. Tesco can have it back, ill have another go. Really like this thing so hope I get a gooden next time.

Fair point, I ride my bikes as often as I can so traffic isn't always too painful.

I'm gonna pick up an 8GB N7 when the kerfuffle dies down to use for sat nav/audio in the car, hook up a usb HD and a mifi that's sat doing nowt.

Should be pretty decent.

Fingers crossed. Hope Tesco offer some sort of swap out rather than RMA, then wait for new.

The issue with this thing isn't so simple. It's how the entire frame is made and how it connects to the back cover. If the machining is slightly off, it pulls the bezel down creating a spongy flex in the screen.

If your on the fence about waiting for Google, I would. If you need an RMA they do an advance swap out, no shipping back... waiting for replacement.

Can someone who's on JB 4.1.1 see if Super KO Boxing 2 Free runs on their N7? According to an article I read it's supposed to run perfectly, but crashes on mine. Just curious. On launch it will download 85mb of data and if you uninstall just delete the Glu folder.

Working ok when your using it.

Noticed it appears to log me out when I'm not using the tablet, or randomly be closed when i come back too out.

Phone is happy to save my password, tablet hasnt. Maybe some JB/Skype bugs but its ok for the most part

I know you can't buy the Nexus 7 in store with Tesco, but I would also be interested to know if you purchased one online from them and it was faulty, could you take it back to the store to get a refund or order a replacement or would it have to be sent back to them?

Dude, happened to me with GTA III. I cleared the app's data and tried again... all sweet next time round...
