Similar case last season, did they actually need Jones and Young? whom they spent ridiculous money on, sometimes you've got to question Fergie's transfer dealings. He's improving the squad at the expense of the first team.

Jones we will only know whether or not he was a good signing when he's in his early to mid twenties, he's not even 20 yet and early stages of last season he was epic so signs were good he'll become a top class CB

Young.... no we didn't need him, he hasn't improved the starting XI and if it weren't for the fact he can score really good goals he'd barely of improved the squad

Have there been any 'proper' Brazilian attackers aside from Robinho in the Premier League? None spring to mind.

Juninho? Granted there's not been many and I suppose it depends how you classify him but he's the next closest I can think of who has done anything in the EPL.

Is player bashing allowed on here? a lot of forums forbid it.

Is that a serious question? Given the amount of abuse that you've given out regarding various players I'm surprised you ask.

Provided you're not just doing it to troll others/get a reaction and you're not creating unjustifiable rumours then you can certainly criticise players.

On topic I'd post about who Hearts have signed but at the moment it's a couple of trialists who used to play for Livingston and Everton with the most exciting news being that we might just be able to hold onto one of our players from last season in the form of Rudi Skacel.

I think Lucas is a bit risky for man u. He has pace, but doesn't look like he uses his brain much.

It'll be interesting to see who turns out to be the better buy: Oscar or Lucas?

I'm putting my money on Oscar.

After fiercely resisting offers from Manchester United for Brazil international Lucas Moura, São Paulo president Juvenal Juvêncio appears to have bowed to pressure from within the club and is now prepared to sell the player – but only for the right price.

Juvêncio had argued that Moura was the man to lead São Paulo to silverware (the Morumbi outfit have won nothing since 2008) and help secure major sponsorship for the club.

The other problem for São Paulo is that the international transfer window has closed for bringing players into Brazil (although São Paulo could hire someone if he was out of contract as in the case of Paulo Assunção from Atlético Madrid).

São Paulo’s other dilemma regards Moura’s economic rights. Currently, the 19-year-old is entitled to 20% and São Paulo 80%. From August 1st, Moura will receive 30% and São Paulo 70%.

The chap above is: My name is Jon Cotterill. I am a football commentator for TV Globo in São Paulo, Brazil.

Brazilian media have just started reporting the same thing, too. This just means we need to sort out a fee. It'll be sooner rather than later I imagine, due to the transfer windows/fees.

Fingers crossed. :)

I don't bother checking sites out for the latest, I just check this thread to see what Robbo has sourced this time! :D

I'll be happy with Lucas Moura, add to that RvP and it'll be a very interesting start to the season, but I want signatures Robbo, no more rumours!!!!!!!

Shocker :p

EDIT: Again everything I've read regarding Lucas suggests he's still very raw (totally understandable for a 19 year old attacker) so I doubt we'll see him reach his 'potential' for a good 2 or 3 years at the earliest if he does indeed sign

Joey Yobo has finally left us on a permanent basis. €2.5m with additional clauses dependent on how Fernebache do in the Champions League.

Good bit of business, loyal servant to the club - got messed around at the end but I don't think he'll have any regrets at joining Everton.

Pienaar should be wrapped up before the weekend now, if that's it I'll be well happy.

On the OS now. :(

Everton have agreed with Major League Soccer (MLS) that Tim Cahill can be transferred to the New York Red Bulls.

Tim, 32, will move to the Red Bulls for a nominal fee, subject to agreeing personal terms and passing a medical. He will travel to the US in the next few days.

He has played 278 times for Everton since his move from Millwall in 2004, scoring 68 goals. An Australian international with 55 caps, Tim has scored 24 times for his country.

I've got a giant motorised satellite dish and even I can't pick up channels showing the Brazilian league

Betting sites show live streams quite often.
Nominal fee for Cahill? Didn't see that coming, wonder if it is an issue with his wages? Had him down as my secret weapon to transfer in Fantasy League when his suspension expires!

Baptista had a season at Arsenal, he was nothing special.

It is pretty shocking really when you look at it, considering how many good Brazillians there have been, that such a tiny proportion of top players coming to England are Brazillian. I know there is the language/climate thing but plenty seem to ply their trade in Ukraine.

RUMOURS and a supposed ITK are pointing toward Heitinga being the next one to leave Goodison.

£4.5m seems too low, but I guess it's the money saved on wages which will be the kicker.

Duffy to step up hopefully, he looks fairly useful.
