OK so as feared in my posts yesterday I just cleared the butcher in inferno with my DH for the first time and hit act II and I was like WTF? I was nearly dying just to ordinary groups of ordinary packs! After dying about 10 times I finally managed to kill 2 groups of elites/rares and got some NV going but it's just not going to work - my repairs are 12k a time and I'm not making anywhere near that between repair cycles. Has everyone else had this problem and is the solution to just keep farming act I adding in some MF/GF gear? I've only got about 200k in the bank and this just doesn't seem to be enough to buy anything decent. Will post full stats when I'm at home but I'm on like 22k dps (30 with SS) and 28k life. Resists around the 300 level and armour about 3k. What should I focus on - max discipline, crit damage, crit hit chance or something else?

Thanks!

Not sure this is the news you are looking for, but... My friend was soloing (playing every day for hours at a time) the game as a DH and after many hours (and help from others to get past some Hell bosses) was stuck on Inferno butcher.

Stats; HP: 26,000, Res: 289 - 450, Dmg: 45,000 using Vault, Rapid Fire, Spike Traps, Crit chance 100%, Crit dmg ~160%

When I finally got my Monk up to Lvl 60 we went straight to butcher and got him second time, re-did a full act I run and it went fine. I can do a full Act II run solo OK with the odd death. In act II coop I just can't keep him from getting 1 shotted all over the place, champions, elites, ordinary mobs, bosses, they all love a squidgy high dmg DH to chase!

He wasn't getting enough damage out or was dying too quick and I then stuggled with the mobs that had x2 HP compared to solo. He lost most of his gold in repair bills, can't be bothered doing the farming so has quit and given me all his items/remaining gold to help me along to Act III, something I have looked at but can't get far in.

I think the DH requires some very good kiting skills to progress in Act II, with the realisation that deaths will come and some (much) of the profit will be eaten up by repairs. You used to be able to use Vault, Evasive Fire, Smoke Screen and Tactical advantage to stay alive while kiting, then put some huge damage into the group then repeat, but the smoke screen nerf seems to have killed that.

Have a read here and see if that gives you any advice on where to change your gear, build, play style. http://us.battle.net/d3/en/forum/topic/5805750805

Then when you are an uber damage DH that can stay alive, you can come and help my poor Monk throught Act III :-) Or if you want I've lost a coop DH so you can have a try at act II with me.

Any ideas on what these gloves are worth? Can't find any equivalent rolls on the AH? Thanks!

Thanks for this. Surprised he struggled so much vs the butcher with those stats, only took me like 5 goes with quite a lot less especially on DPS. Maybe I'm better at kiting :D

Sure might hit you up for some co-op on act 2. I've only done solo so far so will be a bit of variety at least. Not ready to accept just yet that I might need to do like 3-4 act I runs before I have a chance in act II solo.

B.net in sig if you want to add me (assume it's the same as for starcraft2?). If not I'll check this evening. On most nights from 8pm-10pm.
