More on Lucas Moura:

Some Brazilian papers/sites are reporting that they'll accept €40 million Euros for him, and we've offered €38m so far.

His agent has just been quoted as saying (this is legit):

Wagner Ribeiro: "I'm going to England [on wednesday], but is to follow the Brazilian team in the Olympics."

Pull the other one! :p

There have been a load of "quotes" from agents, managers, third cousins etc over the last few days. They can't seem to decide if he is going to sign for a little more money or if the sale has been blocked by his current manager. I have given up till after the Olympics. I'm sure we will know for sure once that is all done and dusted.
 
Kaka makes 7m a year at RM being a bit part player? That is just insane. They need to get rid of him asap. Give him to Spurs in exchange for Modric or something.

Lewandowski isn't shy about saying he wants to play in the EPL this season... but Dortmund want something like 35m+ for him which is just silly money. I think he would play better in Spain to be honest.

I wish Fergie would just forgot about Lucas and spend the 22m on RVP instead. Sao Paulo are just having a laugh with their asking price.
 
Levy wont pay Adebayor's wages never mind wages for Kaka. Who is arguably past it and they don't really need him.

I will hunt Levy down if they get 30m+ and Sahin for Modric however :p

but he knew he was good hence the ''gentlemans agreement''. he may be good but he was still a risk, he was unproven in the pl and people commented (rightly so on occassion) that he wasn't physically big or strong enough to play cm in the pl.

I'm gutted tbh. Admittedly he had a poor season last year and obviously the club wanted his wages off the books and he can leave with the dignity intact, which is what he deserves.

4 years ago he should have been snapped up cheaply by a higher placed club. A total pro, never once whinged about where he was playing or some of the **** formations Moyes had him playing. He just got on with it.

Although we have had better quality in past years for me he's up there with the best players we have ever had.

I imagine his wages are why he has ened up in the states. Can't blame him, few years with a better life and weather.
 
It is seemingly very common and from the sounds of it happened here, that is gentlemans agreement so Modric signed a long term deal to INCREASE his value to help out spurs when he is sold.

IE sign a long term deal, we'll let you go next year, we'll get a better price on a long contract than a really short one. However, that also assumes the manager doesn't overprice you and other teams will match said valuation.

He's not a 40mil player, as for people commenting on his size and if he can cut it in the prem. Everyone who brings up size doesn't know what they are talking about, its as simple as that.

Ingimarson was quality for Reading and he's a pipsqueak of a centreback, Wilshire has made the biggest players in the league look weak, and he's has been brushed off the ball like a girl. Carroll/Drogba have bullied huge players, and been knocked over like a girl by small players. That is part of football, as with a huge number of other contact sports, its less about your size, its more about the other guys size/momentum/using that against him, you bump a huge guy in one direction you might bounce off, bump him from another angle and you'll send him flying.

I've yet to see a player too small for this league, or any league.
