Even the D3 fanboys on d2jsp are calling it **** now. FFS Blizzard. I didn't realise the invincible wizard was public for so long, and the Barb ones been public since late last night and isn't fixed.

They've really cost their reputation here. Best thing they can do is openly admit all the exploits in-game (instead of deleting the majority of topics mentioning it on their official forums) and say everyone can have fun with it but there'll be a rollback once it's fixed - so no progress for a couple of days. I suppose for them though, the more people farming act 3, the more worthy items on the RMAH. This games made them look like a terrible company.

If only during one of the many panels during the many Blizzcons had one fore thinking fan merely asked 'Hey, what is the end game going to be? because you don't have a game without end game'

I've put about 500 hours into this game so far, so I'm not prepared to wrench it a new one like the idiots on various forums. But I do think overall the whole thing has been a complete disaster, from the unplayble week of launch - how unready half the features were to be drip fed in over the months with more still to be drip fed in - and then just exploit after exploit, half of which have been so obviously possible from glancing at a skill description and having 2 brain cells to rub together that (a) their lead game designer needs to be p45'd (b) the entire in house testing team needs to p45'd.

I would put (c) the class balancing team. But that feels like the most rushed aspect of the entire thing so I'm not sure they had one -- every class so far has extremely fragmented abilities, an extreme amount of runes that aren't just poorly balanced to the point of being underpowered, but are utterly pointless to the extent that the rune may as well be left as 'none'.

So there is my outburst, I honestly at this stage wouldn't mind that if 6 months from now once theres more hotfixes and major patches under it's belt that the whole thing, every character, every item, every last gold coin gets wiped and it starts over. The legacy of all this nonsense has broken this game indefinitely when it comes to the AH, the gold in circulation and the quality and volume of quality items on the AH. It needs a new start.

Fun though, 9/10.

agreed

but 100% wont happen

pitty :(

roll on gw 2 :)

I agree with pretty much everything said. A restart needs to happen (or the current gamemode needs to be made irrelevant and a ladder mode introduced).

Also, they need to take the money they've had with the RMAH, be glad about it and then close it for the sake of their reputation. They've had their fun. They can come up with another money making scheme that doesn't affect in-game power. Special gear dyes and more customisable appearances makes sense - maybe things like changing a character name or gender, as long as it's not changing how strong you are in-game then i'm all for some form of real money stuff going on.

These exploits would just be a "oh well, hope they get fixed soon and the game keeps improving", but knowing there's people botting or doing generic farming with this earning possibly £1000's is beyond stupid.

How they manage this really intrigues me. I expect them to do absolutely nothing, the exploits have probably tripled (at least) their income from the game in the past few days.

PVP will be making its way into the game in a future patch. Blizzard have already confirmed this.

That's fine, but why should PVP have anything to do with playing the single/multiplayer story mode. A Ladder mode would be ridiculous.

This game is one of my biggest draws to building my new PC, i loved Diablo2 and still play it.. Blizzard waited so long in development to iron out all the creases, But still it's riddled with problems... sounds like rubbish development and understanding of the way people play.

I too put two months into the game and stopped as soon as I realised that the AH was essential to progress through Inferno because of the lack of drops. With all the good stuff on the RMAH and inflated prices on the AH, the game is dead to me now.

I haven't logged in since stopping dead earlier this month and just don't have any desire to ...

Oh I think they had a theory of how things were going to go, it just didn't work at all when upscaled.

You can kinda see they didn't plan very well for the full release. I remember seeing one of the devs or playtesters or someone official at any rate saying that they never used One With Everything because of the lack of items with the same resistance. Anyone could've told you that that skill would become a staple monk passive because with large numbers of players come a larger variety of drops.

i'm also mega frustrated as i love this whole genre of game, the farming, searching for drops, the loot - all of it. i've said it before but this is not an aprg it's a shopping simulator. the AH is a disaster and is the root cause of all their problems.

It's a real shame as I think the monk is one of the best classes I've ever played in any game, it was a genuine moment of amazement for me when I first equipped 7 sided strike and saw zombies explode - i even went downstairs and got the mrs to check it out, that's how awesome it was.

shame it's just gone downhill since then. if they sorted drop rates i'd be playing again tomorrow, as it stands though i've not played for a few weeks now and have no desire too.

After reading many posts on varied forums about D3 I've so far avoided buying it. I was a massive, massive fan of D1 and D2, played them for years with friends. Is D3 worth it if I play only with my friends? Does that avoid the various negative points, or should I just wait at this point for Torchlight 2 or something ?

Its still a great game but the Auction House has warped the end-game a bit much. I've not been on for a couple of weeks after being distracted by other games and a steam sale but by all accounts, the prices are getting inflated to unattainable levels for normal players.

This really, I got a lot of fun out of it, still am actually, just playing through the SP. Got Monk to 60 and now leveling a Wd.

The problem as Evilsod describes comes with the fact the end game, what I would consider Inferno Act 2 +, is nothing but grinding. If you don't get lucky with drops and make money in Act 1, Act 2 is next to impossible.

For reference, I spent about 250-300Kg on gear, max of 25K per item, to get me through Act 1 with ease, however Act2 is kicking my arse 6 ways from Sunday. The problem being that all relevant upgrades from my current gear set will cost me somewhere in the region of 1,000,000g each. There is a massive void between about 100K and 1M where the stats just don't change enough to justify investment, as a result the prices are just being forced up and up.

Honestly I believe the problem is down to stat weight and allocation based on item level, D3 doesn't seem to have that, it's entirely and more than likely that you will find level 63 items that have worse stats than level 61 items. Not just worse stats but LESS stats.

For instance I have yet to have 1h 63 weapon drop with more than 400DPS, I've probably id'ed about 20 of them, my current AH bought weapons are 650DPS each and even they cost less than 25K each.

Never had much issues getting money in the game, issues I have with end-game is that there really isn't any. It's a case of re-doing Act 3 over and over hoping for drops that either an upgrade (extremely unlikely) or are worth something to sell. Game needs something to do for end game so badly, and only PvP won't cut it. Long time lover of D1 and D2, and whilst D3 isn't quite the same, I still love it (640 hours played), it's easily worth the money it costs.

+1 In exactly the same place. Quite enjoyed the game up to this point gradually levelling my DH and seeing the new skills being unlocked and so on. But once I hit lvl 60 and specifically Act II inferno I realised that I can't just progress gradually any more using the money I pick up while playing to buy upgrades or even find them. Like many I've found the vast vast majority of drops are garbage not even worth trying to sell on the AH, and the gold I'm getting now is just covering my repair bills. So either I go back to act I and grind it a few times (and even then with decent upgrades costing 1m+ that's going to take a long time) or start levelling a new character or just quit!

Was good fun for the first 40-50 hours though so got my monies worth!
