*** The Official Google Nexus 7 Thread ***

So I just bought one, brought it back to work: Dead pixel! Gutted! Pretty central too, so it would really wind me up for sure.

Legal rights in demainding refund or perfect replacement?

Bought on visa debit card in store @ Carphone Warehouse

Just walk in there and swap it out. Don't take no for an answer, and check the next one before you leave.

Wish I bought instore, would save a lot of hassle.

Problem is, they only had one in stock! I may go in, ask for refund given that I know they have no other stock, and ask for them to ring me when new stock comes in. Will update once I've been in

Yessss!!! I ran a couple of screen fix apps, let it warm through a bit. The crystals must have settled because its not noticeable now. Before it looked like something was spilt on the left. Now it has settled in.

The display on this one is a lot richer than the last, colours look like my Galaxy Nexus display.

Might be onto a winner at last! lol

What screen fix apps did you use??

Run pixel tester for a bit see if it shifts it... I've cured a few dead pixels before by running that and applying a small amount of pressure over the dead pixel area just to move the liquid crystal around a bit.

Yeah, I ran that for an hour, and attempted to 'massage it' a bit, but no luck sadly :(

I may have a slight issue I am not sure.

If you go to settings so the screen is all black, the bottom of my screen is certainly "lighter" than the top.

Does anyone else have this? or have I gone all TomD

Got my replacement one from Tesco at home waiting for me now - looking forward to getting home from work to see if the left side of the screen on that one is OK or not. :)

Ive deff got screen bleed on mine down the bottom, will wait a month or two then replace once issues are sorted :D

Some screens seem to be shaded in such a way as they look brighter at the bottom. Pretty sure that's deliberate, but even if it isn't I've not noticed any variation anywhere that matters.

LMAO! It's the shading. Switch to landscape and you'll see. TomD's got a lot to answer for! :D

Can I just ask if there's a risk from buying from Google direct, it says in-stock. I'm only curious as nobody in this thread here are buying from them directly, am I missing out?
