Synology drive

Just purchased a Synology DiskStation DS212+ 2-bay All-in-1 NAS Server
waiting on delivery does anyone know if this will be anygood.
its the 2ghz cpu version. thx in response, hope i made a good choice

saving photos music and will be using it as a FTP server. and would like to find a usb wifi dongle to connect to my tv Dlna for playing videos.

If your tv has ethernet you'd be better going for a wired connection, even using something like a set of homeplugs.

Edit: the 212j would have done all the above

Yeah was looking at that but wanted something with faster read write speeds.
will be looking into getting some ip camera as well.

Fair enough. I really should get round to sorting my ip cam out. Got a Y Cam Kinght S sitting here doing nothing. In fact I shall get right on it!

What hard drives did you get? Thinking of swapping out my WD Green drives for a set of reds.

what model tv do you have? i use a hama wireless dongle but it only works on certain types of samsung tv's

Its a samsung PS50C680 its a 50 inch 3d plasma.

Put in some western digital blue 6gbps drives. will use them in raid 0 till i get some faster drives.

I have been using 4.1 for a week or two now and find it really good. Not encountered any bugs during my use yet. I think you will be ok with the beta mate

only problem i had was u cant revert back to version 4. but if its good im good to go with that

Got most of it running just to make sure im ssl secure can u tell me in DSM settings i have ticked Enable Https connection.
so when a friend uses Filezilla will that be fully ssl encrypted. thx in response
