***The Official Samsung Galaxy S III Thread***

Just incase anyone is thinking of doing it.

If your on LG8 and use the rooting tool on xda (with insecure kernal) it seems that its not compatible with LG8 yet :(

Had my wifi dc every 5mins and lock screen freeze all the time. Flashed the orginal kernal and all was fixed (and i kept root). Seems you just lose ADB.

I have a white s3 in a white gel case, but the gel case is slowly going blue thanks to my jeans. Could this happen to the phone if I remove the gel case ?

Highly unlikely, the gel case is probably a cheap material. The phone is 'hyperglazed' and I imagine that will protect against such things.

I've got a problem with my s3. When making or receiving a call the screen turns off.

It does this even if the phone is not moved and is just left laying on my desk.
Just before the screen turns off a symbol of a phone handset appears in the left hand side of the notification bar at the top.

If I've made the call I have to reboot the phone to get a working screen back. If somebody has called me, after they've hung up I can get the screen back by pressing the power button - which takes me to the Lock Screen.

That icon mean there's issue with your dialer app. Is your phone stock? I know how to fix it but it needs to be rooted.

You can try clearing the cache on the phone, contacts and google service framework within settings.

I've now installed CM10 (which I love!) but my problem with the screen/dialer hasn't got any better.

I presumed the installing of CM10 would have replaced my dialer and would have fixed the problem if it had been non-hardware related, is that right?

If you have any suggestion for things I could try, I would really appreciate it.

Thanks guys.

Installed Omega 11 again from a complete wipe. Had issues where everytime I tried to install something I got the message "not enough room", even tho there was shed loads of space on the phone. I think it was the apps backed up by Titanium Backup that was conflicting with the firmware when reinstalling. Something changed from Omega 10 onwards.

Having to install them 1 by 1 was not much of a problem as logging into your Google Play account on the pc and selecting what apps to install.

So far they have gone on with out any problems.

*edit* Have to say that the phone feels so much faster and smoother this time without reinstalling the backups.

SGS3 on its way to me :)

opted for blue as the white looks absolutely rubbish next to the glass finish of a white iPhone 4 (my other phone), in isolation you could get away with it but it looks really plasticy. Blue far less so.

Need to find a decent case for it now, almost all of the ones in the accessories thread like the walnut look incredibly cheap!
