tbf Purdy 08/09 was an exception not the rule when it comes to Liverpool and title aspirations :p

The years leading up of CL qualification, CL finals/semis/quarters were the rule under Benitez. Until one blip year with retard fans, that bell purslow, iain ayre and the cancers all undoing it getting him sacked.

I'd imagine it'll be well over 10 years before we sniff a CL final again.

Agger bid accepted according to Twitter :p and also a bid for De Rossi at 28.5m lodged and looking like it will be accepted. Announcement tomorrow at 4pm tomorrow.

Everything crossed :D

By announcement I mean the bid being made. According to Sky Sources all that jazz.

The Agger deal was mentioned on twitter and also by a "it" who's quite well thought of on the Liverpool forum.

The DDR deal again by a pretty reputable guy on Twitter.

Could all be rubbish but we will soon know.

No I mean the announcement will come in the shape of Sky saying we have made an offer and it will be according to sky sources and so on. Then there will be James Cooper whatever his name is outside Carrington. That's what I'm thinking.

The guy on Twitter is FBloke. Broke news about notts forest and transfers in the past.
The guy for the Agger deal is someone on their forums. I don't know who.

I sense you're getting your hopes up over De Rossi, hope you're prepared for it to all go sour ;)

Haha Ferdinand went for 30mil 10 years ago.

OH LIVERPOOL

Ferdinand went when he was 24 and was far better than Agger was/is/will ever be

Actually may as well not, we have fallen greatly since 08/09, the mistakes that have been made since then have been huge and caused us to be where we are now, a mid table team.

But yeah sure lets pretend that past never has relevance lmao.

Tell me how the mistakes of the past have any relevance to decisions being made today?

You can bitch and moan as much as you like, it won't change anything and neither are the people responsible for those decisions still at the club. What do you get out of moaning about those decisions?

The decisions to sell Alonso, Mascherano etc and the decisions to sign Konchesky and Poulsen are as relevant as the decisions made 30 years ago.

Inter Milan president Massimo Moratti has claimed that Paris St Germain have offered Sao Paulo €45 million for in-demand midfielder Lucas Moura, a fee he believes is "completely illogical".

Lucas, 19, is one of football's hottest properties at present, with the Nerazzurri, Manchester United and PSG among those clubs interested in swooping for him.

But while United had appeared to be in the driving seat to secure a €30 million move, Moratti believes the Red Devils will be trumped by PSG - who are prepared to splash out an extra €15 million to land the Brazil international.

And the Nerazzurri chief says Inter are now definitely out of the running to sign Lucas because they are unable to compete with the financial might of the Qatari-backed Parisiens.

"We would never have gone up to that sum," Moratti told Sky Sport Italia. "In any case, there are no regrets that we didn't finish off the move, as the cost was already pretty high a few days ago.

"The €45 million that PSG offered is completely illogical and for us it would have been very out of key with our approach.

"PSG are starting a new era, so they are completely reconstructing the squad. At least I can relish the fact I'm saving money."

Well, if true, that's blown us away then. :o

The agent has of course denied it, though. Still, that's a rather hefty fee, to say the least...

Also:

Arsenal are set to confirm the signing of Malaga midfielder Santi Carzola after he passed a medical and joined the club at their pre-season training camp in Germany.

Seems like the Cazorla deal is done.

They have relevance on where we are today.

Pretty sure Iain Ayre is still at the club.

And no, don't be so stupid.

Carzola fee supposedly under £15m which makes me marginally happier than the rumoured £20m that was being talked about last week.

I'm not sure how I can make this any more simple for you. Past decisions playing a part on where we are now and those decisions having any relevance on what we are going to do now are very different things.

The decisons to sell those player and replace them with who we replaced them with has left us in this situation but you moaning about it won't change anything. None of the people that made those decisions are still at the club so why do you still want to moan about it? Unless of course you just like complaining.

And don't be so stupid, Ian Ayre was a commercial director. He played no part in buying and selling players. It's only since Comolli left that he's (reportedly) the one handling transfer negotiations.
