Not true. Not from experience anyway, there's winners out there to be had.
It's true in my experience, every one I have spoken to have been impressed that I have some sort of interest other than getting bladdered but not had any themselves. In fact after promising to keep the day free, one girl I was supposed to be meeting a couple of months ago cancelled because she was hungover from the night before so I gave her short shrift. Miserable maybe, but I am speaking from experience

this is true. most, not all, under 25s are like this.

It would be nice if I knew the reasons why though, from the women who have viewed me so far! I can't change anything if I don't know what's wrong! - I don't care how harsh the criticism is, its just frustrating not knowing more than anything.

Fair play man. I generally ignore girls like that. Infact, I totally ignore girls like that. There's interesting ones out there though! Just have to keep looking or be in the right place at the right time.
The hangover incident sucks though!

I've messaged a couple of incredible looking hotties. One or two ignore, one or two get back - I find it's usually the opening message that makes the biggest difference for me. The ones that have something in their profile I can go on, for example 'no creeps or weirdos' have the biggest return because you can easily start a funny conversation with it.
Don't ever tell them you think theyre hot either. Ever.

Nah. If they're pretty they'll undoubtedly get 'you're gorgeous' pounded into the inbox on an hourly basis, even on a night out! Just approach it slightly differently - be the funny guy that isn't desperate.
I've messaged 4 girls so far. Got a number and a date out of one. Having a right laugh with another, potential number I think. One ignored me since friday and has literally just got back to me this minute. Perhaps it was the picture change suggested by Mischief

I've had Richdog and paradisiac says the text will "alienate" 90% of the women on POF" when I first created my profile
But I'm lost as to why. I write as I speak in real life, so I'm struggling to figure out how not to "alienate". I could attempt a complete re-write of the profile, but I can't see the language and dialogue coming across any different...I lost interest when you got to honest and loyal individual

I don't get this whole shyness thing. these are people you have never seen or spoken to until the first message. if you tell people from the offset you are quiet and shy, it doesn't look great for you being someone that will hold conversation well. which lets face it, is what online dating is based on.
obviously its normal to be nervous when you first meet, and yeh I mention im shy in my profile, but you have to follow it with a positive like you soon get over it or something. or make a big point of when I MEET new people. that gives the impression you can hold an online conversation.
