have tried asking for specifics to my toons stats but can someone give me some ballpark figure's for a barb nearing end of act 2 inferno? Mainly about dps and hp, i'm currently on 53k health and 15k ish dps. Now i'm fearing my dps is too low. I'm also using sword and board, should i make a switch to 2 weapons?
And also, how much life on hit should i aim for in total?

Ta!

I'm a 2 handed Barb. I can complete Act2 but not really make much progress in act3.
I'm at 40k Health which is relatively low but I do 40k dps and over 100k when using WotB.

DPS is too low, all resists probably around half of what they should be. Remove Spike Trap as your using a bow and it's range is too big, you really need a crossbow for it to shine. In its place get Preperation with Battle Scars rune. You could do with a new weapon also, a 900 DPS bow with 100 dex and socket would beat what you're using.

You think all resist is that important for a DH? Suppose it depends if you're going tanky or glass cannon, but it's pretty tough to do both unless you have a huge budget.

I know what you mean, i joined someones game from here who was on act 3 but forgot to change it to go back to my own game only to get owned in 2 seconds by the first group of normal mobs lol :p

Yeah it depends how the DH is played, but for me I wouldn't even leave Bastion Keep with less than 450 AR. But it does come down to whether you play as glass cannon or not... Volt's issue is that his character is neither, he's a glass noodle if anything.

Well I completed Inferno with 1 weapon and a shield, I did this because it made me very survivable (and I didnt know of any other effective build). Having high resistances, loh weapon coupled with a shield with high block % makes things a lot easier.

However now that I am in a position with better core gear, 2 weapons allows me to use the double WW build. The main points (apart from it being more fun and quicker to farm) are that you can stack a lot more stats if you have 2 weapons. One of the keys to the double WW build is that you want to stack a lot of critical hit damage. With 2 weapons, you have the potential of 400% increased critical hit damage from the weapons alone (if each weapon had 100% base + a gemmed socket). Basically, the idea is that if you are using 2 weapons, your damage needs to be high enough to counter the loss in defense that a shield provides so that things die quickly enough to not cause you too much grief. With the double ww build, this is true but also having ~1000loh+ is very important since the cyclones hit many times a second to multiple targets, regenerating a lot of life and allowing you to survive. If you dont have loh with this build you wouldnt survive.
.

Unless they changed it since I was last on, cyclones do not work with LOH, they only work with Life steal.

Just start again as a Monk. Any tips on what gear to go for as only had used the Barbarian so far?

Just hit dex and vita gear until hell act 4, then you can probably start to gear up with a bit of all res to make things a bit smoother. Also I think once you hit mid 40s (someone please correct if im wrong) you can get a weapon with reduced level requirement and basically one/two shot things in hell. Dont think thyre that expensive now.

I hate to come in here bad mouthing D3 but ffs, this game with it's great gameplay and core deserves so much better than the crap it is now. It seems to me that at least 90% of people have quit now.

This is excellent advice, especially the reduced level requirement weapon, 46 will be the earliest as 14 is the cap for reduced level. You should also pick a particular resistance (I choose lightning) and get equipment with all resist + choosen resist and use the One With Everything passive. Then have a look here for the build and equipment you are aiming for. http://eu.battle.net/d3/en/forum/topic/4211087360

I have managed to complete the game by parking a few elites/champions in Act III/IV, but I'm not really geared for those acts. Profile of my Monk here http://eu.battle.net/d3/en/profile/AshenShugar-2446/hero/5593236, this allows me complete Inferno act II with no problems, bosses in act III/IV were also straightforward, except for the now notorious Ghom

Unless something has changed between now and last night, this is definetely incorrect. Run like the wind and LoH has always worked for me and everyone else who uses that build..

Realising this is a barb build and not a Monk build, I thought the cyclones were from the use of sweeping wind. :)
