Ok, my G9x has broken...it scrolls randomly and even formated windows and it still does it....which is annoying when you try shoot someone and the game scrolls thru the guns.

I need a new mouse

I know what I kind of mouse I want and what style with what features, so please don't suggest something random :).

I like the shape of the MX518 as it fits my hand perfect

I like the weights of the G9x but don't like the shape of the mouse, so please suggest something with changable weights if possible

It needs 2 thumb buttons, something to scroll with, and a + / - for on fly DPI changing (you must be able to set what DIP you want and different settings for different games). That's all the extra buttons I need :)

I always had Logitech Mice....so I am willing to try something new

I belive in you guys :)

Make me proud and suggest me my new love :D

Thanks ou very much guys :)

Logitech G500. Love mine, and does exactly what you want. Changeable weights, dual mode scroll (free scrolling or 'notchy' scrolling), +/- DPI buttons, with up to 5 or 6 custom DPI levels I think, buttons on the side, braided cable.

Same. Absolutely love my G500, quality bit of kit.

The G500 is the same as the G9 with the usual Logitech gaming mouse shape. The G700 is the wireless one above it which is just as good but no weights.

The scroll wheel broke on my G9 about a year back with the same thing, random scrolling. I contacted Logitech support and with nothing other then a copy of the purchase confirmation email they sent me a G9X for free. The mouse was over a year old at the time. You can't argue with customer service like that, they secured me as a Logitech mouse user for life. :)

Anyway you may want to try the same thing, could save you some money. If not stick with Logitech and get the G500, fantastic mouse and if you liked the MX518 shape it will be perfect for you.

Yeah from your requirements you are looking for a G5 or G500. They are not quite the same shape as the MX518, but very similar. You only have 3 DPI level presets, but on the G500 I think it's the same sensor and DPI range as the G9. The G5 was replaced by the G500 and it gained one or 2 side buttons over the G5 (depending which G5 you had), the wheel clutch (clicky or free run), and the higher DPI sensor from the G9.

.

there's a 2 year warranty on the g9........ it might even be 3. They still have the best CS though :p

Well yeh but I think it was more how hassle free it was, I didn't need to send my current G9 anywhere for tests or prove anything. They took me at my word and with little other then one email communication and no questions asked I had a new one in the mail. :)

I personally love razor mouses for gaming (Stay away from the keyboards build quality has dropped over the last few years). Also looking at yer request list some of the razor mouses tick all boxes.

Whatever you buy, make sure to avoid Roccat. Razor might be overpriced but Roccat products are flimsy, an issue compounded by the fact the company itself will do NOTHING to help you except quote their responsibility to German consumers but anyone else needs to contact their retail outlet, even when the defect is a known manufacturing problem.

Flimsy products
Flimsy company
Non-existent support

I'd stay away from RATs, Roccats and any of the expensive Steelseries or Raxer mice.

Nothing wrong with spending more money if you want the features/design on offer. It's a whole different thing spending the money on something that WILL break and have no back-up from the company however.

love my RAT 9 and that's after trying pretty much everything from Razer including their Negas mice, Microsoft, Logitech and ermmmm, someone else I can't remember.

It's not perfect by any means but it's pretty darn good

I agree there's nothing wrong with it but there's no feature on any of the more expensive mouses that is in any way useful.

No pro MOBA or RTS gamer uses the buttons on the mice. They're just a gimmick.
