not really common sense, if he was being linked to the sig size rule when he was breaking the business interest rule it is bound to cause confusion

You can link to pretty much anything, as long as it otherwise complies with forum rules such as no adult content, no promotion of business etc.Serious questions Jokester - can you confirm if social links are ok?
It seems YouTube is fine, what about Twitter and Facebook?

I had this exact issue recently and got an infraction for speaking up about it...Nath knows what I'm talking about.
Anyway, my sig was 3 links, deviant art, my website and my XBL account, none of which are businesses/self promotion in any way and I've had the same signature for the past few years. Yet a mod came along, wiped it, replaced it with the generic 'lolsig is against rules' and linked to the signature FAQ that doesn't mention anything useful.
The only conclusion I could come to was that the mod didn't use their noggin properly and assumed that one/all of my links were businesses, they are not...this is now clearly stated on my personal website too for any mods wishing to wipe my sig again.
Please, check before you mindlessly wipe these things and even better, contact the forum member you've just wiped the signature of explaining the reasoning behind it.![]()

.Also what rule did my deleted post break jokester? Not having much luck today, are you.

And Invader, the difference with yours was that your sig genuinely didn't break any rules. This case is completely different, in that it broke rules, just not the one that was referenced. So, thanks for the story, but...

). Although I do realise there are a lot of members and that could cause a huge amount of work for mods if they emailed each person that broke a sig rule.We can issue infractions for it, but then you get people making threads moaning about getting infractions for things like this and oversized images *cough*.See my edit.
More to emphasise the point it'd be nice if explanations were given for these things. Although I do realise there are a lot of members and that could cause a huge amount of work for mods if they emailed each person that broke a sig rule.

There's always the PM system.
Thing is my forum sig has been the same for 12/18 months without trouble.twitter and facebook are also fine, Mine has been in my sig for along time
Thanks for this but I started this thread to clarify the rules as they aren't clear to me and I am clearly not the only one. It also seems that these rules are moderated correctly. You can link to pretty much anything, as long as it otherwise complies with forum rules such as no adult content, no promotion of business etc.
