Aye, it really feels weird. Sorta like this is how things should be all the time, but in a week it'll be back to reports of war, recessions and general doom & gloom.
The Olympics have really injected a feel-good vibe into me this past fortnight
My daughter has been begging me to let her join an athletics club since a week back, she was only interested in.. well, nothing other than being a typical teenage girl before that. She'll probably get bored quickly but it's really nice to see her being inspired like that.
Hopefully the games inspiration sticks across the nation.
It's been weird watching it from overseas. BBC have done a sterling job throughout (VPN ftw). Popped back for this weekend and there was just such a nice buzz about the place, even though i didn't manage to get any last minute tickets for anything.
Part of me feels horribly sad for not being there but the other part is damn proud of my country and adopted home city for pulling it off in absolutely ******* grand style. And that's before getting onto to the outstanding Team GB performance.
