Office envirnonment, someone brings in some nice cakes for the office but you're trying not to be a fat gluttonous pig so you

1) Refuse the offer "Thank you, but no thanks, I've already eaten" or words to that effect.

2) Take the cake but take it home with you and feed to family/pets "Thank you, I've already eaten but I'll take it home for my dessert tonight."

Which is less rude? If you have a better suggestion, fire away.

Oh, and it goes without saying that as a bloke I can't admit to trying to watch my weight.

Who cares what people think.

I don't care what people think of me, but I do care how people treat me because of what they think of me. I don't want people in the office to start disliking me and then treating me differently because of that.

What?

Option 3 for me "Thanks but I'm avoiding cakes etc. in my diet". I do this every time there are cakes in the office and I am male. I'd say both your options are quite rude. If you don't want any then just say so, don't pansy about pretending like you've eaten.

Would you like some cake? No thank you cheers for the offer though.
Sorted! Or if I fancy making them feel uncomfortable no thanks it's time I stopped being fat :D

Don't want it? Say no thanks. Simple.
Let someone like me have a 2nd when there are some left after the first round :p

in an office try and not be the idiot that everyone hates unless you are the boss.

take the cake and then do whatever you want with it. they are not going to watch you eat it.

If that was really true you wouldn't have the sig you do ;)

I don't think either of them are rude, in fact I would just be forthright and say "Thanks, but I'm on a diet".
