Best heatsink for 3930k

I've had everything haha. I just use the K2 because it looked the best and allows me to use RipJawZ. The Phanteks is still better.

Saying that, I was the first to start recommending the NH-D14, then the Silver Arrow, then the Phanteks and finally the K2 because I was always first to be sent these coolers in the world /endbrag :p

You can't go wrong with any of these, and each have their own plus point. The NH-D14 is a good all-rounder, the Silver Arrow the quietest, the Phanteks the best performer, and the K2 the best looker.

So with the others the RipjawsZ don't fit?

Isn't Silver Arrow the best air cooler? I have a D-14 and love it but I accept that the SA is better. The Phanteks and D-14 are very close, though from what I've seen the D-14 is better. :P Best mounting system I've used and very quiet for how much cooling it does. Phanteks has better colour scheme for sure.

Silver arrow is hideous to me. D-14, original and best...

K2 is so shiny, and cheaper...yum yum.

Think the cheapest one is probably the best option. I have no reason to change from D-14 but if I was buying today I'd probably get the K2 because it's so pretty.

Tall ram-sinks on memory don't really do anything. So don't compromise because of this.

I LOVE the D-14, I have had mine for over 2 years and it's all I'll ever need. It's a very quiet cooler. [email protected] won't go over 63c on P95.

I would go for the Noctua D-14 if I had to buy another I just can't fault it. It's easy to install and keeps me satisfied with air cooling.

The differences in temps between these coolers is negligible unless you are really anal about it. Don't think you can go wrong with any of them. Happy to know my D-14 will last me for a long time.

D-14 is amazing, I don't see how anyone would be disappointed with it. Everything from the price to box and included parts are well worth it. The fans on it are top notch I love them.

Tall ram can usually be installed under the 120mm fan but you have to install the ram first obviously, it's tricky otherwise.

D-14 certainly gets my vote.

Which Q6600 and at what clock, I managed to get 62'C at 3600 with my HDT-S1283.

The problem with the NH-D14 is that it's just too expensive here. The K2 is far better value for money for a similar package with the added benefit that the fans support PWM functionality.

Plus, the k2's fans are extremely nice looking, (like the cooler itself), and theyre not too loud at full speed.

I have owned a D14 and now have a Silver arrow. The D14 is a bit smaller, fans are not pwm, and the colours are not my cup of tea. The SA is bigger with pwm fans so they run really quiet even when running ibt, where as the noctua fans are a bit louder even at idle, and no dont tell me to attach the speed reducers as they also reduce the cooling capacity. Fitting the fan is easier on the noctua, at least for me.

The phanteks by the looks of it is a monstrosity but colour scheme it has a nice colour selection.

If I was going to buy one now, I will buy the D14 but I will get the. Silver arrow fans.

Just a Q6600 GO at 3.6GHz, this is without amazing case airflow, 1 intake 1 exhaust in coolermaster silencio. Silver arrow certainly sounds tempting I just don't like the look of it at all.

I wouldn't consider D-14 fans to be noisy at all... at full rpm you can hear it but I can't class it as noisy. It's a shame it costs so much here. £56.05 with free delivery elsewhere, so cheap for this cooler!

And the 2011 version is like £10 more.

Phanteks is definitely a good choice as far as money and looks are concerned, PWM is a great feature to have also.

I like that the Phanteks uses nicer colours, pwm, and dual 14cm fans and still cheaper. I don't think buying any of these is a wrong decision. Get what looks nice in your case. I'd be very happy with a black phanteks and some low profile samsung ram.

Don't ever go by what the manufacturers rate their fans at. It's why the fans like the Akasa Apaches are so popular when in reality they are mediocre at best. Plus manufacturers test their fans using different methodologies. If you want a better comparison of fan noise, have a search for articles on xbitlabs or there's one recently done on Vortez as well. Saying that, the Thermalright fans are undoubtedly the best, not only in noise level but in performance as well.

The Noctua fans are second best. The K2 fans are pretty quiet but the 120mm isn't quite as good as Noctua's. Phanteks have the loudest 140mm fans out of those coolers.

Yes indeed. That said even Phanteks are not loud if rpm is dropped some, but they do have a different sound to them.. and it's not to my liking.
