Oh dear.

Wenger doesn't want to sell him to Man Utd, so what would you expect him to say? It has nothing to do with arrogance.

Historically, he doesn't say anything about any such transfers (bar denying them) until they're done. It was the same with Nasri.

what you said is opinion mate sorry, bit of a vindictive tone as well. RVP will be in the arsenal side this saturday, if he leaves arsenal it will be on a free next summer. also do you understand the idea that AW has said there are no negotiations taking place? The rejected man u bid was ages ago it's all twitter feed...

Happy if we get Henriquez. Reminds me very much of Diego Millito

Although won't be satisfied until the deal is done as Bridgewater hospital is used by both Manchester Clubs

I wouldn't say it's all twitter, no.

Fergie himself saying the other day that they were still trying and would persevere but that Arsenal were trying to negotiate with other clubs and it was difficult to understand their thoughts as they were giving nothing away, but that we would continue to try and see what happens, would suggest that it's ongoing.

It's all seemed as if they are reluctant to sell to us and would prefer him to move abroad, but interest seems to have dropped from Juve/City.

He rejected the original bid, how do you know for sure we aren't going to make a new bid tomorrow, or have done so today?

You're clearly quite upset and don't want him to leave, which is understandable. What Wenger said was a fairly generic comment, he knows that the board may sell him regardless of what Wenger wants so they don't lose out on £20m.

While I agree there's nothing totally solid to suggest he wants to join us, there is proof that we're in for him as Sir Alex said so himself. He's also said he was following it up but Arsenal were being 'awkward'.

Arsenal would be fairly smart to cash in and then buy another player with the money. There's not much point having an unhappy captain leading your side. He obviously would rather leave, he's just had a brilliant season and he's not getting any younger. His stock in terms of what managers think of him will never be higher than it is now.

So we'll see. I suspect there's quite a bit more to it than just rumour alone.

Sorry mate but nothing doing, man u are just picking over bones, ie there's nothing there. Also I'm not upset in the least not a great RVP fan personally just sick of hearing about it.

awkward as opposed to bowing to his presence and letting their star player go?

More specifically, he said:

"I don't have a gut feeling on it at the moment, I must admit. We're not getting any breakthrough with Arsenal. It's difficult to say why they're operating this way. I don't know what their thoughts are because they're not giving anything away."

Well, you're going to keep hearing about it for a little while longer. I'm pretty sure there is something there.

Yep because that's exactly what it means ;).

Spose you would get egotistical when you're a past it 70 something at the head of the suddenly very much 2nd best team in manchester. Seriously City are miles ahead of man u, if RVP was going to leave he would have gone to city, it's a dead subject.

operating in what way though?

Picking over bones?

Yeah, Fergie didn't come out and say we're after him did he?

Sigh.

I'll go back to lurking again, seems people have crawled out that are unable to have a reasonable discussion again.

In what way are City Miles ahead of United again in a purely objective way. Please provide some evidence/statistics or leave your misguided ABU nonsense at the door.

Anything on past achievements, please feel free to use to support your arguments

'Miles ahead' being a minute or so from losing the PL title, and then winning on goal difference? Hm, not too sure about that.

Your post reeks of bitterness.

maybe not miles ahead but the bookies seem to think the difference is very significant

Man City

1/1

Man Utd

13/5

I think they got it wrong :)

Undoubtedly a very strong team. Where they won the war last year was in Midfield in a lot of games. Yeah of course, Nasri and Aguero were the stars of the show but it really was Toure who allowed them to play.

I think we are much stronger in that department than what we were last year. City are still the yardstick mind. However, I think the burden of being Champions, Eye's on Europe and possibly a few long term injuries of their own might tip it back the other way. You can tell that Mancini isn't satisfied with the squad and is frustrated at the lack of development on personell changes. Never good to air the Brian Marwood stuff on the eve of a new season
