I'm struggling already with the deep rims! lol
Managed to inflate my rear tyre, but the front just won't pump up. How hard can it be to use the supplied Mavic valve extenders??! :@
Haha, i was the same.
Got my new bike out of the box in the living room, built it all up, then sat holding the valve extender for ages trying to figure out how to make it work. Had to look it up on youtube in the end :o
If you're not sure, this is how to do it:
1 Use the narrower end of the extender over the valve lock to undo it.
2 Turn the externder around and screw the wider end over the open valve.
3 Pump
4 take off extender, use narrow end to close valve again

:( oh dear, it sounds so simple when you type it out. Dont know how i didnt manage it

Argggg this is really starting to annoy me now, replaced tube again for the 3rd time, everything was fine, bike left stationary for 4 hours and the tube just blew for no apparent reason other than to tick me off!

Did you check the inside of the tyre for bits of glass/sharp stone/etc?

I've actually done the rear tyre by following the instructions Mavic give which is basically as you've typed above, but the same process isn't working for the front. All the air seems to escape so it's as if the extender isn't properly venting the air into the tube despite being screwed onto the valve tightly.:(

Ok so i was going to wait until next year but these seem to good to pass up.

The Canyon Ultimate AL 9.0 Di2 is £1590, and i was considering buying Di2 which is £1200 so it makes sense to just buy the bike, but spending that money can get me a Pinarello. (i know) :p

Anyway, does anyone have any suggestions on alternative bikes to this AL 9.0 Di2 thati should consider? i mean the carbon one is around the same price minus the Di2 Canyon Ultimate CF 9.0 but other manufactures?

When ordering i have a couple of questions, it asks for crank, compact or double, i think i need compact? this is the length right? i want to be able to turn the pedals whilst on lock.

Im not sure what cassette tho, 11/12/25?

Don't forget the nipples and rim tape!

Is this your first wheel build? If so, let us know how you get on :)

Buy it you won't regret it.

I would get the Double with 12-25. The compact will give you the gearing closer to that of the lower gearing on a triple. Good if you need a granny gearing but you will run out of pedal downhill. Toe overlap is more to do with the geometry of the frame.

Compact/double refers to the number of teeth on the chainring.
Compact is 50/34
Double is 53/39

The 11-28 on the compact will give you better gear ratios for going downhill than a 12-25 on a double.

*You can pay a bit extra for the non-default cassette if you want, so you could have the 11-28 on a double chainset.

Think im just gonna take it a shop and let them do it.

If the punctures are on the rim side, check the rim tape is covering the spoke holes!

toe overlap, is a real problem, i dont really want to have to worry about it whilst doing any sort of speed, my Boardman had this until i changed the pedals, do you know if this bike would have this problem?

Compact is 50/34

Im not sure what i need really, i struggle on hills compared to my mates but can keep up on the flats no problem, im not sure what i have on my Boardman to judge it by. I have no idea what to go for lol

Also, on the order page the black bike, which is the one i like, in M says CW37, then at the bottom it says, Current CW (13. - 19. August): CW 33

What the hells that lol?

Sorry for the questions if they are foolish:p

The compact has lower gears to make climbing easier.

Thats either the delivery week or the week that they are back in stock.
Counted from the start of the year, so this is week 33.

Right, I've bought some 105 hubs, some Kinlin ADHD rims, a truing stand and I'm going to buy some spokes.

Expect much swearing from my neck of the woods.

If this is your first wheel then I can recommend Roger Musson's book on wheel building, it's worth a read and has plans for a DIY truing stand also:

Good grief. I'm trying to buy some shorts on the Decathlon website and it's just impossible. It's absolutely shocking. I think I might just cycle up into Bolton tomorrow evening and buy some in person, and save on the delivery charge.

Their website... It's just unfathomably poor.

Hmm looks like i will have to get it in white..

Ill go for compact but im not sure on the cassette tho, it has choices of 11/28 mountain range, doubt ill need that. 11/23 for flat areas, or 11&12/25 all round ratios

I'm popping into the LBS tomorrow. Hopefully they can do some last minute adjustments to get things just right with the stem, post and bars. I guess that is one of the downsides of ordering from an online only retailer.

Full spec:

Frame size 51cm
Campag Chorus 11 groupset
3T Ergonova Team Black carbon bars
3T Arx Team Black alu stem
3T Dorico Team Black carbon seatpost
Fizik Antares seat and Fizik bar tape
Conti GP Force/Attack tyres
Mavic Cosmic Carbone SL wheels
Elite custom racing cages
Rose flat pedals (will be getting "proper" pedals in the near future)

Aye sorry if I came across a ****** with that last post. Just didn't look right to me.

The front brake is set in the open position to get the wheel in/out. Pull the brake and push the silver rod through so it matches the left hand shifter. See the difference between the shift lever and the brake lever on each lever.
