he looks good in red :p

would arsenal fans be going on about RVP being injury prone if he had stuck with them?

now that he has moved clubs thats all he is it seems.

tbf to arsenal fans (DM in particular) this has not been the case, if anything, it's been quite the opposite from united fans, stating that compared to others, his injury track record is nothing to write home about, which is inaccurate.

this will either be a masterstroke from ferguson (and i can't help but feel that during his meetings with wenger, the phrase ''i need him to keep ahead of city, you can help'' came up atleast once) or it will be a disaster.

Seriously why the **** has no one bought Berbatov yet? Really cant fathom what the situation with him is (by that I mean why Fergie hates him and why every manager at every other club in the world also hates him)

Because Saha on a free or Fletcher for £15m is better value...

(in reality he'll be at Arsenal by the end of the window)

In the UCL yes he can

Fair enough

Has to be wage related (as Utd are practically giving him away from the fee point of view), or Berba doesnt want to end up in Greece or some other football backwater)

It's very odd.

I imagine we do have a deal in place with a club for him, it just hasn't been announced yet.

They'll want to give Robin the No. 9 shirt, surely.

Has to be wage related

That's all I can possibly put it down to as well, but come on we're not City, we're not paying a mediocre player like Adebayor 250k a week/month/whatever it is.

Fair enough Berbatov's current wage probably is higher than the likes of Spurs usually shell out but he is literally there for the taking for anyone who needs a striker.

Spurs really should go for him. They need at least one striker and he's top drawer.

Edit: van Persie is due to arrive at Bridgewater in approximately 30 minutes or so (so the people waiting outside have been told).

Fergie apparently managed to put down Berbatov again by claiming they are back to the best, saying they used to have Yorke, Cole, Sheringham, Ole, and now have Hernandez, Welbeck, Rooney, RVP and Kawaga....... not even a mention of Berbatov.

As far as I know the quote about Berbatov only being 5mil is not from Fergie, its from Berbatov, and wasn't it Berbatov saying he's spoken to the boss and was TOLD he would only be 5mil.... that doesn't mean that is his real price. Somehow it comes across as he's done something to pee off Fergie, maybe yelled at him about being dropped for some game, no idea what. But Fergie dropped one of his best players, has left him hanging, has prevented him leaving several times.

I mean, they've extended his contract in the attempt to make some money selling him, but what, give him another year costing them in excess of 5mil more in wages to try and get 5mil more for selling him? Makes no sense at all, afaik its certain that Utd took up the option of extending the contract, Berbatov was quite happy to leave, who on earth spends 5mil in wages to get probably less than that back in higher transfer fee's.

Everything comes across as Berbatov being screwed, why, who knows, certainly looks that way. We all know Fergie can be vindictive if you cross him in any way.

Anyway he'd be a bit of a waste at Arsenal, he's BRILLIANT, but we've just spent a bunch of money on two strikers, I'd have taken Berb's over Giroud but its already a done deal. Spurs should absolutely do everything possible to get him as soon as possible though. Berbatov is an infinitely better choice than Adebayor, Berbatov is looking to end his career somewhere and is a fantastic player, Adebayor is a greedy **** who will be angling for a move within 18 months or a big pay rise.

Everytime I've seen him play recently, he doesn't look bothered. Lacks energy and determination and seems resigned to the bench. Surely you'd be busting a gut to maintain your position in the team? He's hardly helped himself.

"In addition, United had already freed up the best part of £180,000-a-week in wages following the summer departures of Michael Owen, Park Ji-Sung and Tomasz Kuszczak."

Surely not :/

Owen's last deal was a Pay to Play deal so unless Park and Cocksack were on £90k a week some porkies are being told

Berbatov? That's just how he plays. He'll work hard when you give him the ball, not when you don't have it. Just like Ibrahimovic really, and nobody seems to mind him.

I can see Levy going in for Berbatov on the final hour if none of the other targets work out, so in that case Berbatov is nailed on to join spurs unless another team comes in for him before.

Adebayor to Spurs for 8m is a done deal apparently. The deal involves us subsidizing his wages for 2 years. I think around 2-3m will be eventually paid.

We got shafted on this deal and the original tbh :p but we have to do it.

I still cant wrap my head around RVP being a UTD player. I woke up a few times during the night last night and the first thing that came into my head was the RVP news. Its just so surreal. I won't believe it untill he walks out in a UTD shirt.

This is probably our best ever tranfer window as far as attacking potential goes. We would've done just fine with just Kagawa.

I just cannot see us coming 2nd this year or not reaching the CL final. Rooney and RVP are going to tear teams apart. Every team in Europe should be shaking in their boots at the thought of playing UTD now.

I just feel really bad for Berba. He has been treated so badly by SAF. I just want to see him at another club and being the main man at that club. He is a special talent.

All these pay as you play deals have some sort of basic wage. Owen would have been earning a decent amount regardless of how much he played.
