Just had to break the 7K barrier...

Think I've finally got my refund, complained to the Google Play Store last night and got my refund within a few hours. Not showing up in my account yet but it shows up in Google Wallet so I'm confident.

Think I've finally got my refund, complained to the Google Play Store last night and got my refund within a few hours. Not showing up in my account yet but it shows up in Google Wallet so I'm confident.

Hmm, I sent in the following yesterday morning to G Play:

"As the refund has yet to appear, I just called and checked with my bank again - there has been no refund initiated, and Natwest confirm that I would have seen the refund almost instantly. Can you please escalate this as this has gone on for far too long now?

I know that you are not personally responsible, but I would like to raise a formal complaint that this is terrible service. I bought directly from Google thinking I would have a better customer service experience that had I bought from a third party. A 14 day internal Google turnaround for a simple check and refund is poor in this day and age, especially from an internet giant such as Google. The fact that a refund appears to have never been initiated even after the long wait for the 14 day period to expire just compounds the issue. As Google are no doubt aware, quality issues with the Nexus 7 are the subject of much discussion on the internet, however those that bought faulty devices from third party retailers have long since had their refunds/replacements. There is simply no excuse as to why buying directly from the manufacturer, Google, should result in a much poorer customer experience."

So far no response at all. When you say complained, did you complain directly through Google Wallet? I've done that also this morning after seeing your post.

If no response by mid afternoon, I'll kick off a chargeback. I discussed it with my issuing bank's chargeback team yesterday who stated there would be no problem, but it would be maybe 3 weeks' plus to complete. Ideally I'd like to get my money back this week if Google can pull their finger out.

How did you achieve that?

Flashed the latest Trinity kernel. Overclocked to 1.7Ghz
Links are in one of my earlier posts from a couple of days ago.

Ewww quadrant! It's a pointless Android 1.5/openGL ES 1.1 random number generator, why are people still using it? :p

What about real performance gains or battery life improvements, i.e. does Asphalt 7 run any better? :D

Currently running at 1.5Ghz for daily use. Battery life should be a little bit better as I've under-volted it by 25Mv across the board.
TBH, it's such a fast device with games, I can't tell the difference. :)

Oh well, that's mine going back for a refund now. To whomever asked earlier, it was exhibiting the flickering on all levels of backlighting, regardless of having auto brightness enabled or not.

Does the Nexus 7 need to be unlocked and rooted to do this?

Still waiting to see the money, but had this for two different devices i've refused.

I contacted them, and orignally got told they only got one of them back. Asked me to contact TNT and find out where the other one was. TNT showed me it was with the correct people same time as the other device. I responded to google telling them this, and they just said they can also now confirm that both devices have been returned. Refund within 14days..

Well I have now unlocked and rooted my device. Installed the TKT, but it doesn't allow me to change the CPU or anything else. The max freq for the CPU is 1300 and it's set to that and I cannot go any further. I have download the latest kernel, but I don't know how to use it or where it should be located for TKT to utilise it. Any ideas? Thanks

Have you flashed the kernel?
