What's that got to do with anything? They could be lovers and it still wouldn't be up to either manager how much Kaka got offered for. Other than saying he doesn't want or need kaka anymore I doubt he has any influence on how the money men at Madrid balance that out.

I'd be amazed if them not hating each other means Jose says "I like fergie let's go 50/50" :D

It simply increases the chance of a deal being done, perhaps on slightly better terms.

Wenger not wanting to sell RvP is an example of such a situation. Also, the 50/50 'good deal' thing was just an example, if Real won't play him, they'll want to save some money if possible, surely.

Cant believe you guys have been talking about Kaka for around 3 pages now, all because of 1 WUM on twitter :o :p

Me too, we've been linked with him for ages now. We definitely need a proper left back. I was highly impressed with Santon the other day, however defensively he is still coming short. And if we can't get the Debuchy deal through, I'd rather see him play at RB instead of Simpson, who did nothing except for the cross which lead to Ba goal I suppose.

I expect the debuchy deal to be off. Lille have put the breakers on any move.
Would not be surprised if we sign him in jan or next summer at the price we want to pay. That's how we roll!!

Pieters is a top player who had a bad injury year. He can play cb also.

Southampton were on the brink of signing Buttner this summer but I understand a 3rd party wanted a big payment for the deal going through, so Southampton pulled the plug?

Basically his dad had a clause that entiteled him to 800k as part of the transfer. We went yeeeeno to him, go ask them for it. They said the same thing and the father wouldn't budge so the transfer didn't happen.

Buttner then found him self completely frozen out at the Dutch club who loaned a replacement from Chelsea so he must have sorted something out with his greedy dad.

Shame as we need another lb, at united he'll only be back up to evra when chances are he would have been better than fox.

Did either of you see any of the QPR game, Fabio was at massive fault for half of what happened, and from what I could tell they FAbio was so bad Park was pushed to left back at some point to try and limit Fabio's damage.

i'm glad someone else raised this as i thought it was just me. i bet fergie moves him on.

Glad to hear Utd are about to sign a lb - reckon he could easily get 20/30 games (not necessarily starts) this season if he turns out to be good enough

(just to keep PE fresh)

After that performance a club with more options would likely never see Fabio play again he was that bad.

Hmm, to be honest I thought he'd signed more and worse players but so far its.

Zamora, Cisse, Onouha last Jan, two quality, one rubbish, Johnson, Nelson, Hoillet, Diakite, Park, Green this summer.

Diakite, unknown so far, Park, after last season hilarious but probably a marketing goldmine for a club with almost no commercial income at this point, Green, has some very good games a lot of dodgy ones. He was decidedly poor behind of a terrible West Ham defence, might be good behind a solid one.

Of the defence only Onouha was his buy, and he made a big screw up as he's awful, Fabio, probably naive to assume a defender whose twin is played regularly by Utd was decent. Really hard to judge them as Swansea I think could just be even better this year than last year.

Really? He was diabolical last season and not much better the year before. He's just dire defensively and his decision making going forward is awful - he gets in good positions but then produces nothing.

But he is rated highly by SAF. He carried the arm band all last season for UTD. I've never rated him. He was awful in the CL Final against Barca last year.

He was worse in 10/11 than he was last season

As I've said before I dont think Evra has been poor persay nor has he been at his best he's just been meh.

I was watching back some games from 10/11 the other day and he made some real clangers then, last season it seemed his biggest problem was his fitness and general positional play.

Can we improve on Evra? Probably. Is he someone who needs replacing as a high priority? Nah.

He is a good player, but needs consistant games.

Think its harsh to blame the QPR loss on just him, as some are keen to do (he might be at fault for one goal, but I dont think its fair to label anywhere near the other 4 on him). He also attempted a really good cross field pass (yes, it got intercepted, but the quality of his attack play was good).

End of the day Swansea deserved a good win, and counter-attacked very well, but there are at least three (four if you count the gk) other players jointly to blame for the matter of the loss

hmmm I agree with Tom, however imo with a higher quality backup, Evra should be better rested between games (especially big games) and hopefully therefore less likely to be caught out of position / able to get back quicker from his attacking runs.
