where are people reading about VDV leaving spurs? there were rumours about it a couple of months ago but they faded.

i like VDV he didn't have a great season just gone though and i think he's a bit injury prone but i want him to stay. him and sig do cause us a selection problem though.

anyone know if there's any truth in the rumour that city have bid £30m for luiz? they should rip their hand off!

bizarre statement.

I wouldn't be as strong as that but I think Spurs have got weaker over the course of the summer rather than stronger.

Though If Ade decides he is interested, Parker gets back quick, Caulker plays and plays well and the likes of VdV stats fit you could be looking as strong/stronger.

I don't think Serie A has kicked off yet has it? Anyway I didn't say starting, I said a chance (I.E. squad member) We only started giving him a few sub appearences when it became clear that he was seriously looking elsewhere. And that's considering how depleted our midfield was at some point last year.

I wasn't suggesting you meant anything by what you said was just a general wondering as to whether he was getting games with them.

After one game? :o

No

bizarre statement.

Not really, Everton have bought well, Chelsea have strengthened and Newcastle are the same as they were last season while Spurs are going to lose their best player haven't improved up front (personally I think they need more than just Adebayor) and have lost a proven manager.

spurs were unlucky on saturday. one striker, hit the woodwork twice. conceding a very good finish from ba and a penalty we gave away when attackers defend.

bale wasn't at the races, one striker, sig's first prem game. we actually had more chances than i thought we would have done.

are we weaker? we've lost modric (even though he is still training with us), we now have manu back and hopefully atleast one more signing to come. he's a big loss but that's the way it is. we played livermore in midfield against newcastle, they should've pulled us to pieces but never really did.

i now think arsenal have a big upper hand on us due to our new manager. i still believe we are better than newcastle, liverpool and (comfortably) everton over a season.

i reckon it'll be tight for 4th and 5th between us and newcastle and liverpool and everton battling for 6th and 7th.

or it could go awfully wrong and we end up bottom half of the table from bonfire night onwards.

You can get all the spurs news you want here.

QPR still trying to compete with the big boys lol, seems like they are after Julio Cesar from Inter Milan.

Some crazy spending from QPR in the last few days.

Pretty sure QPR could have saved a lot of embarrassment and just not signed Green in the first place... (especially not with the same contract he had at West Ham, which was just too much).

Would love to see Cesar play, especially in the championship... :D

Villas Boas has won better silverware than 'Arry!

It's about quantity not quality...

VDV leaving is because his wife lives mostly in another country, so living with her is probably a very appealing idea. He tried to leave last year with loads of talk about him going back to Hamburg but with Spurs asking for too much seemingly. It seems like he's happy to be at Spurs, he doesn't hate it but his prefered choice being moving way closer to his wife's job so I'd guess he'll jump at the chance to move to Germany if Spurs accept an offer.

Spurs weren't the 3rd best side in the league ever, Chelsea can come 6th and still have the third best side in the country. Putting an idiot in charge doesn't change the underlying team. Spurs were arguably 4th best, they were 3rd best in the league but their own idiot in charge threw that away. But Wenger does his own stupid crap to throw away points as well.

Who will come where this season, who knows. If we actually get shot of Walcott and bring in Navas, even with weak fullbacks we'll be starting to resemble a team that knows how to play football properly again. If Giroud and Podolski never get firing, we might be screwed. Newcastle have improved, not dramatically, little steps, from a strong team and improving isn't a bad thing though.

Spurs I can't see doing great, Ade, with a full contract and no need to try till its almost up.... good luck :p AVB in charge, good luck, bringing in a guy to replace Modric and keep the team ticking over, not signed that player yet and he need to get up to speed with the league, the team, I can't see that going well that quickly to be honest.

Exactly what quality did 'Arry win. The FA Tin Cup!! LOLZ

We he won the "lets get 2 rival clubs relegated" trophy and the "I broke an entire club" cup and the "I spent more money than is feasibly possible" shield.

All in all a pretty talented manager...
