Guild Wars 2

I am stuck on getting Jute all i seem to be getting it wool which i am not higher for

im also struggling with finding Jute aswell :(

It's not an imbalance, people just are'nt farming the right mobs, Jute for instance is easy to farm if you know where to look.

I highly recommend checking out http://gw2craftmap.bteamgaming.com/ :)

JUTE!!!!!!
I can't find any either and I need it too. Wood and copper is easy, where the f is the jute!

I don't even see it on this interactive map....

eek, sorry, it seems to just unlock for the character, i had one and don't have it on another i thought it was unlocked for every character :(

I'm nearly certain I've had dyes unlock for the entire account, but either it's changed or I was dreaming it, all the recent drops have been 'for this character'

It's quite ironic that this game wanted to make leveling such a streamlined, seamless process... and yet crafting seems to involve lots of grinding and mob killing. Is this game about grind or not? Have they purposefully made crafting a painful process to level up? Does this invalidate what they've tried to do with the normal leveling/exploration process?

So I've heard WoW has recently released a new patch in preperation for its next expansion. You might want to play that rather than this game your always picking 'faults' in.

Leveling is stream lined, and last I checked, you don't need to craft to level.

If you do on the other hand your rewarded with good items (the best gear in the game comes from crafting) and experience ~10% of a level per orange discovery.

Getting the materials is and always was going to be a grind, if it was just handed to you on a plate where's the sense of adventure. If crafting was easy to level, why would you bother doing PvE at all?

for the professions do you have to keep discovering other recipies like? is tht how you level them up?

I have never really been a crafter like so noob at this too ha-ha

Are you asking based on your own experience or just picking holes because someone else has mentioned it?

indeed you have a point on another forum some one was explaining about the lack of xp mobs give you , what followed in the thread was 'you not supposed to grind mobs do events'
apparently the devs didn't want another grind mmo , yet if you want to craft you have to grind ;) unless the mats just fall from the sky . Maybe im missing the point ?

I think they've managed to integrate all the aspects of the game quite well. And it's only the beginning.
Have you ever seen an MMO where the crafting mats drop from the sky when you clap your hands ?
Crafting it's not supposed to be very easy seeing that you get a lot of XP out of it. It's easier in other games but you don't get any XP. Which would you prefer ?
As far as I can see it, you're supposed to level crafting while leveling as you get mats from questing, exploring, salvaging...etc. And if you don't have enough of them, jump to the trade post, that's why it's there, economy. Yes, it's not fully working, give it a bit of time... I don't understand what's all the rush for some people - it's a non-sub based MMORPG, big, pretty, well made... explore, experiment, enjoy it in all it has to offer !
If you're rushing through it, there's a great chance you'll be dissapointed. Play it right !

Crafting has been the hardest thing in GW2 so far. I'm wondering is it even worth doing it on my alts?

Currently JC and Cook on my main

Crafting is worth doing for sure, it's the primary source of the best gear in the game.

Crafted armour can be made from 7 different stat groups, ie power/precision/crit damage or power/precision/toughness or toughness/precision/condition damage. Exotic recipes are available for all crafts at 400 skill.

The ones I have for armoursmithing require:

1 Gossamer Bolt,
20 Gossamer Thread,
5 Tier 6 Rare items (fangs/claws/blood etc),
5 Globs of Ectoplasm (obtained by salvaging level 70+ yellow armour).

I have already made myself a full set of level 80 rare (yellow) heavy armour, with power/precision/toughness stats for my dual axe warrior, and am currently working on gathering materials for a set of magic find gear and exotic gear of the same stats. I am also leveling weapon smithing at the same time so I am almost self sufficient.

Why are people whinging about crafting? Yes some if its hard to find but Christ at this rate no one will playing in a months time if they just gave everything to you. I don't see the problem working for something in this game

I'm still level 70 and I bought the vigil yellow 80 set for 2g in total, which was every weapon I could use and the full set of armour :o

Sigh. I am killing every single mob I come across because of this. Yellow mobs, red mobs, hell even white mobs. I have tried the crafting maps, I have tried the zones that apparently have great drops for leather in each of the zones I have so far done, and I am not getting anywhere near the same number of items as ore for example, or wood. I have over 200 things of green wood, and well over 200 copper ore, left over from levelling up crafting on other characters. I have in total come across about 50 pieces of leather, over almost 3 zones, and your telling me that is not an imbalance?

I'm also most definitely not the only person who has this issue.

I've just gone through the normal progression route and 100% completing each area. I have TONS of materials. Copper was the only one I really had a problem with but once I got over that hurdle I had too much of the next tier of mats.
Similarly I have had a lot of leather, as other people have pointed out you need to farm the right mobs.

I've found jute and leather can be obtained very easily if you salvage all the armor drops and loot the stolen bags off centaurs etc.

Hey guys,
Where is currently the best place to buy this?

Most places seem to be sold out.

Bought mine last night from CJS CD keys. Code came through instantly with their autokey system :)

Well I got the game and I'm definitely enjoying it so far considering I don't usually like MMOs.

Do you know if the vendor is still active? I know they disabled the Priory one.

Guessing because you could get lvl 80 rares pretty cheap then use the mystic forge to get exotics.

Ditto, I actually have 250 iron, mithril, platinum ore at the moment, along with 250 of the wood/cloth of the same tiers.

The biggest hurdle is getting to 75 skill in a craft, after that its plain sailing.
