thats each I guess?
looks pretty epic
guy I work with has been looking at these two and cheapest we saw was £1100 for both, cheaper if you wanted campag for some reason tho.

That's the wheelset for £515, next cheapest I can find in UK was around £680 using a 20% off code but that's expired. @ £1100 you were probably looking at the SLR's or one of the other models?

@minty looking shiny, if you don't mind indulging how much did you pick your zero's up for?

ah yes was SLRs

Gave my bike a clean today and put some new (2nd hand but new to me) wheels on. They are fulcrum zero's with a dura ace rear cassette. the red spokes are a bit marmite i guess. I kinda like them. will have to get a bit more red on the bike.

sorry about the rubbish camera phone inside garage picture

Peacock food?

Lol I can see where you got peacock food from but no its nothing as exotic as that. It's rice flour that is used to make poppadoms.(Indian family)

I picked up the zeros for 300 but they aresnt the newest model. They are a 2009/10 model (don't have ceramic bearings) so they didn't work put mega cheap but they are in v good conditon. On a plus side they also came with a new dura ace cassette.

I'll test them out tommorow to see if they feel any different to my racing 7's. I hope they do :)

Have you considered custom built wheels? I think if I ever replace my Cosmic Carbones I'll get something built here: http://www.wheelsmith.co.uk/

Some nice wheel porn in the gallery: http://www.wheelsmith.co.uk/gallery

Got to love the 3K gloss carbon

I was going to start a new thread but I guess It maybe be worth asking here first.

Does anyone know where a good place to get front chain rings 60t or larger that does cost an arm and a leg? I'm having to go from a 11t smallest rear gear to 12t and would like to be able cruise at 20mph+ without having to pedal like like a lunatic.

been away for awhile and totally ****ed off

previous case = no further action from the police just a talking to.

so ive been a victim of dangerous driving, road rage, assault, being falsely accused of assault and him lying to the police and get no further action, as cyclists the protection we have is nill, and now in my eyes its less than that.

furious.

60t?

What do you have for now? It's not going to be THAT much of a jump!

What chainset too?

Stronglight do cheap chainrings called dural or better ones called zircal? if you have a standard 5 bolt 110/130/135 bcd chainset. Careful with the chain length depending on what you pick though.

Understand your frustration but instead of getting worked up look at the positive side; At least you didn't let it slide. He's likely been bricking it through the whole thing. And it's now on the record so while he's probably been 'let off' now with a stern warning it will make him think twice about assaulting a cyclist or anyone else for that matter again in the future.

I need specced on 3 things:

- Road shoes to replace Shimano RO87's sub £150
- Helmet:- Around the £100 mark
- Quality Brake pads (alu rim)

I'm just being faggoty. I just see too many siezed front mechs with people leaving bikes in the big ring all the time.

I'm terrible for that. My front mech's been through about 5 siezure/WD40 & cleaning cycles and not a single gear change in that time. I'm actually running with no front mech at all at the moment (took it off while trying to diagnose a creak).

My chain comes off now and again though so I should probably put it back on...

60 - 12 is not a gear that would be suitable for cruising at 20mph.
Thats the sort of gear a time trialist would use for cruising at over 30mph.

Bont A-Threes
Giro Atmos

Thats what I'm using, but after a try on of others around that price point decided that they felt the best fit.

Loving the Spring weather here, been in the office so finishing at 15:30-16:00 meaning I can get out and ride after work :D

Only downside is it seems extremely windy, must be a spring thing, better than in summer when it's too hot!

I came the closest I ever have to hitting a pedestrian/coming off a couple of days ago. I was doing a loop and was going about 25-30mph at the time. A pedestrian from the opposite side of the road started to cross and I could've sworn she looked my way when she stepped out. Anyway she continues to cross as I'm coming down and it's only when she starts crossing the central line that I realise she's a douche. She carries across and normally I then go behind (almost to overtake her) whilst shouting out to alert her to my presence, at which point she decides not to do the thing that most people do and finish her crossing as quickly as possible, but she actually takes a couple of steps back into my new path. I was this <-> close to hitting her or losing control of the bike.

Stopped a fair few metres down and gave her a good shouting at and she admitted to not looking at all.

Question is, I know what to do if a car hits me or visa versa, but what can you do if you hit a pedestrian and it's their fault (with witnesses)? Is there even any point in getting details and the police etc? Can you take them to a small claims court seeing as they don't have insurance? Or is it literally just "oh well, they smashed up a £1k bike and broke your arm, move along..."

If I'd hit her she would definitely have been spending the night in hospital.

Cheers are those the moldable jobbies? Seen a good deal on Bont A-Threes but thought they were 'Tri' shoes? Only reason I'm switching from the RO87's is I find my feet going numb after 40-50miles then require toe wiggling every 10 miles or so to bring life back into them.

Been looking at Kask helmets mostly, will pop into LBS later and try a few on, pretty sure bike-uk do Giro's so will look out for the Atmos.

I think that if you as a cyclist hit a pedestrian in the road its seen as the cyclists fault regardless and you are open to a civil claim for any injury they sustain.

All cyclists should have some form of third party cover for this reason.
