Completed Diablo 3 with my Witch Doctor last Friday and immediately put all my gear up for sale on the RMAH. Even pricing it around £3 per item I'm not able to sell anything. I'm pretty sure the RMAH is dead.

And they wonder why the economy is screwed beyond repair...

I dont think its broken because someone got 3 legendary's in an evening :p

After spending a lot of gold messing around with gear on my barb to try to farm act 3 faster, think i will go back to sword and board, its slower but more reliable if things go wrong with multiple elite packs etc. Might mean i can go back to using a xp gem!

I'm yet to get a legendary or green drop... what do people do with all the blue/gold items that arnt worth using / AH? sell the vendor or salvage them? i've been running around act 1 inferno for the last 2 hours with 5 stacks of valor and yet to find anything id consider keeping for any of my characters

if it vendors for >800, vendor it, if it doesn't, salvage it and sell the bits on AH.

I think the reason people get frustrated with the AH is that there is no longer a market for 'good' items which will sell at high enough values to collect enough gold to buy a 'great' item.

The reason for this is not, as many people have said, because there arent enough players. In fact there are still lots and lots of people playing. The reason is that as people's average gear gets better, the market for a 'good' item becomes smaller. Also as we get further away from release, less new players join meaning the market for progression type items gets smaller each day. This has been compounded by several things

1) The game got easier. Many people can now farm Inferno effectively, meaning more items of a higher quality are being found which has shifted what is considered a 'good' item closer to perfect rolls. This means that, on an individual level, you are much less likely to find a 'good' item.

2) Coupled with the above, more rares now drop from trash, meaning the volume of items being discovered each day has gone up.

3) Build nerfs have reduced the number of affixes that are considered desirable, forcing everyone to look for primary stat/vit/all res/crit/ias (and for some, loh). This is going to be compounded by the upcoming CC nerfs meaning that CC effects are even less desirable, further reducing the pool of useful affixes that an item can have.

We are moving towards a market where the only items with value are those with close to perfect rolls, which is I think what Bliz expected the AH to be used for and is as I understand it how the world on D2 trading works.

On the subject of legendaries, the best legendaries are generally those that can guarantee being rolled with good affixes, rather than those with unique effects, because the unique effects are generally fluff or are on items that are otherwise underpowered and players want power, not fluff.

One of the key ways to combat this in my opinion is there should be more unique effects that promote build diversity. Legacy nats is a prime example of this, and also where Bliz have in my opinion got it wrong. Its perfectly possible to play a DH effectively without legacy nats, but with it you have (or had, as they nerf them one by one) the ability to play several unorthodox builds which are fun and give a reason to replay, since you are adapting your playstyle to a new set of skills, not being forced into a cookie cutter build because gearing is so generic.

Think you have pretty much hit the nail on the head there and I for one would like the ability to play more than my WW/Tornado barb, that said though and what is 'food for thought' is what will happen when PvP turns up... I mean, something has got to give somewhere with regards to damage and some type of resilience, especially with the playing field spread so far apart in terms of damage / HP etc.

No but multiply it by many people and you have certain people with high paragon and even higher MF. I was talking in General Chat yesterday and it seemed like half the channel (ok half of the 8 or so people who were actually talking) had boosted there MF to the cap of 300 + 75. Wtf chance do the rest of us have rolling around with around 100? I can't afford gear with good stats that also has MF in reasonable quantities and nothing I find seems to have any value at all. I finally found an Exalted Grand Sovereign Mail plan a few days ago thinking I might be able to bag a few mil at least. Went to the AH and it was worth about 700k and its the first one I've found since pre 1.0.4.

Top paragraph is very true. I am finding basically nothing of value so I simply can't afford to get these epic items. I'm also getting bored to tears with being forced into playing the same damn character over and over because playing anything else is just a waste of experience which ties directly into MF (and spending money on MF gear would mean buffing up a single char and screwing the rest too).

Whats this about upcoming CC nerfs?

For now, I'm enjoying playing Hardcore. I don't have to think about Paragon and I'm having fun actually playing my character to level up. I need to think a little more and be cautious which made leaping forward into a swarm of Fallen Manics in Kulle's Archives that much more entertaining :p (oh****11111RMBRMBRMB - Giant Stomp w/ Wrenching Smash followed by Rend).

people who are willing to level up paragon's or build a set to get max mf should get better gear for their time played, hopefully though the more great items that get discovered may swamp the market. Hopefully anyways but i wont bank on it!
I can see blizzard upping the drop rate eventually though once player levels or discontent gets to a certain level etc. Saying that though, the rmah will always be at the back of their minds :(

I can't remember how to look up builds sorry - what is your dps and crit damage and crit chance ?

I rarely see over 1000 people in public games, I do wonder what the active user amount is. I can't see it growing that much more and with no one buying anything, i do wonder.

Check out my latest build got some more crit and swapped out my chest armour for more hatred regen and +discipline. I still have 1400 loh but my dex has had to drop in order to gain in other areas.

My biggest annoyance with the game has to be that sometimes it fails to respond. Especially noticeable when you get past act 2 inferno, sometimes it fails to move and it is not the result of enemy movement skill. I don't know what it is, either lag, my slow gfx card or just the game, but it is not very fast to respond at time and amount of deaths ive had due to being stuck outweighs any other method of death.

This game badly needs a way to show others whats in your stash. I've got masses of stuff to give away but I havent got the energy to screenshot it all. I'm gonna end up vendoring it once I run out of space :/

Im done with this game, i cant progress in inferno, cant gear up any further for it due to the action house stagnating.

I understand this is the hardest level but to prevent players from even grinding towards progression isnt fair. Time to move on to better games.
