US official killed in embassy raid in Libya

Some people here don't seem to understand that if your brought up to be an ultra conservative Muslim (salafist is it?) over there, then speaking ill of the prophet would be like someone taking a dump on your mum. Put that alongside a violent culture where mob justice is commonplace, a lack of western-thinking education and a war in which your beloved leader was killed, that makes extremists a little nuts.

It doesn't justify their actions by any means in our eyes, but it does in theirs.

I'd agree entirely.

It certainly supports my point that they're not exactly tolerant and peaceful!

I understand it, it doesn't make it any less bonkers.

Just because I express an opinion that does not coincide with yours doesn't make me a troll.

Stop insulting the people having a discussion here and come up with a reasoned counter argument.

Btw that movie has been found not to have anything to do with Islam. It was dubbed over to change to storyline making it offensive.

Cindy Lee Garcia tells the website that she was hired last summer for a small part in a movie she was told would be called "Desert Warriors," about life in Egypt 2,000 years ago (Islam is about 1,400 years old).

She told Gawker "It wasn't based on anything to do with religion, it was just on how things were run in Egypt. There wasn't anything about Muhammed or Muslims or anything and that, according to Gawker, "In the script and during the shooting, nothing indicated the controversial nature of the final product. Muhammed wasn't even called Muhammed; he was "Master George," Garcia said. The words Muhammed were dubbed over in post-production, as were essentially all other offensive references to Islam and Muhammed. Garcia said that there was a man who identified as "Bacile" on set, but that he was Egyptian and frequently spoke Arabic.

edit: its like they purposely did this knowing that this will cause an uproar.

Can I see a dub Mohammed day coming soon? Just as when the cartoon stuff go so stupid, thousands of people decided to draw Mohammed in order to show Islam violence only makes things worse, maybe we now need a dub Mohammed day?

Pick a clip from a (famous) film and Mohammed away!

But in all seriousness, we cannot concede to this sort of action in anyway! I'm still bemused how these people behave the way they do in the 21st century...

I think you meant to show people violence only makes things worse?

Confused?

Thousands of people got so frustrated with Muslims attempting to prevent freedom of speech with threats of violence, and actual violence, just because of words and cartoons, they nominated a draw Mohammed day and acted upon it.

ie: Threaten violence due to one cartoon? Well here's ten thousand more...
