*** The Official Google Nexus 7 Thread ***

Well, Google have lost the return I sent for refund on the 2nd August to their Leicester collection center.

My wife has lost the RMSD receipt so i'm going to have to contact the PO where I posted it from on holiday to try and identify the tracking number :/

Has anyone else had their returned device go astray at Google HQ once returned?

Just had an email saying they haven't received it also. Sent an email back saying they already sent me an email confirming receipt! Now off to Italy so will have to wait till 21st to see their reply. I still have my proof of posting though.

Thanks for the reply Monkeymike, appreciated - enjoy Italy.

Well, they've sent another automated reply and are now addressing me as Brittany - which seems apt given my experience with Google, to date, as i have a sudden urge to shave my head and get some random tattoos done as a result of their abysmal CS and constant BS.

Just got these in work, tempted to get one with discount.

Are you folks with a higher end android smartphone using both just as much as each other? Since my girlfriend bought her iPad her phone's been a bit neglected..

I rarely touch my phone when at home now -in fact I've deleted a few games as I prefer the experience far more on the Nexus.

I also have an iPad 3 and I still pick up the Nexus as it's just far more comfortable size for the purpose of chilling.

Just picked one up from HMV. Am happy to that I have none of the issues that have been reprrted previously. The sales chap stated that he was aware of the issues that the Nexus 7 has had however HMV's batch hasn't been affected for some reason.

Am looking forward to setting up the Nexus 7 and running it through its paces.

One of the major reasons for getting a 7 was that I was using my phone a lot at home and it munched the battery. I think its quite enjoying the rest, and I'm certainly enjoying not having a dead phone of an evening :D

Actually, a way to connect my phone and tablet together so that I get text messages from my phone on my tablet would be cool. Anyone know of a way?

Question; unsure if it has been asked but is it possible to connect more than one device to the nexus via bluetooth? I have my odb 2 connector but also want to connect to a BT receiver which will connect to my amp.

Not tried it as haven't received the parts but can't find any answers about multiple BT connections

I probably use my GNex less because it's got a smaller screen and it's slower. But that's in the house. Out of the house the GNex obviously wins because it's more portable and has a cell connection.

I've got a galaxy note as my main phone. For many things its either/or but the nexus is generally quicker doing things. However there is nothing on the Note that I find annoyingly slow and its certainly better for entering text (I haven't put any effort in customising the input on the nexus)

To be honest, I could probably sell he nexus and not miss it too much since I have the Note and a TF300.

However, I'm still enjoying the Nexus. Its a superb device so I won't sell it just yet.

I'm impressed with the Nexus 7. I usually use the laptop in the living room browsing the internet but I haven't had the need to use it as the Nexus 7 has been a joy to use.

Its a great size and easy to take around with you, great form factor and Jellybean runs really well with the Tegra 3 chip.

I'm seriously impressed!

Guys looking to get two tablets around £200 each for my girls for xmas. What is this like compared to the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2? I notice the tab had an sd slot.

They will be using it for games/books/music/films

I've played with the galaxy tabs in shops and to be honest if I hadn't played with the nexus I'd think they were fine, I much prefer the nexus though, purely because its got the stock launcher.

Had a wee play around with them in that pc shop and preferred the look of the tab.

They both had nothing on them to get a real good go at them :(

Was looking at a 10' tablets for myself but I think they are just a tad bit big and heavy.

So I've got this £15 to use at the Google Play store. Are there any 'must have' apps I should be looking at? I'm not bothered about rooting the Nexus, so anything that requires that probably won't get bought.

Open to suggestions otherwise though.

Not sure if shizzle is acceptable... :p

I bought the game based on that highly positive review though. It is pretty awesome!

I sold my HTC One X and bought a nexus 7 and a cheap Android phone instead. Working out pretty well. I felt I wasn't using the One X that much to justify the cost and the power of it.
