Guild Wars 2

isnt there more than one stealth fountain?

anyway i dont see the problem if people want to waste there time camping it with or without siege then can stop you

theres also the traps people can use that make it virtually impossible aswell which is intended by design.

Even if there is one near by, you need to take a torch, it's pitch black dark there, once you interact with anything the stealth drops, and you can not do that part without a torch.

Traps are not virtually impossible to pass by, they can be passed, easily.

The campers are not wasting their time, they're farming, easy badges.

Without siege, they can be overcommed.

With siege, they can not be.

It's not a hard concept to graps and considering arenanet anti-farm attitude I am surprised this is not exploit. Perhaps they will change it in the future. As it is now, it doesn't feel right.

Edit: actually it might not be all that impassable if allies get arrow card up. I overlooked that. Next time will have arrow cart blueprints with me!

I expected to be doing a lot of PvP and that's mostly what I - and others - have been doing, but it's a complete mess in many ways. Perhaps it will improve when it's organised but at best it feels like the 40 man BG's in WoW and they're not great either.

That was one of my favourite things from WoW lol.

I'd expect some disagreement. Don't think I'm saying it's bad because it doesn't have much PvE content; I'm not. The lack of much PvE content is a flaw, but I didn't buy it for that.

I bought it because I expected the PvP to be something really great, and for the most part, I don't think it is. After playing it for quite a while, I went back to WoW and it felt so much more balanced and refined - which was rather alarming as WoW PvP - while being very good if it's organised - isn't nearly as good as it once was.

GW2 reminds me an awful lot of Rift, actually.

I'm still playing it for the time being, but I'm really going to be watching with interest to see if it continues to gain popularity, or - as I think it may do - slumps a bit after the initial 'omg its amazing' period is over for most people.

Fair enough :)

I think WvW will improve as more people hit cap and focus on it, that and the week long battles arrive so that it becomes a little more tactical rather than a one day xp zerg.

We'll see though :) ticks all my boxes but I guess its horses for courses, the bonus you have is f2p you can drop in and out and not lose anything! :)

I fully expect it to improve, and I think it will be a lot better in future, no doubt about that.

One of the main issues people seem to have is that, as melee, you can't often see what's going on in PvE or PvP. Normally I'd say this is a player issue, but it really doesn't seem to be. That needs sorting out or the game will just be dominated by certain ranged classes.

Things I do like are:

The graphics, the classes, some of the different mechanics, the environments, the fact it's F2P, etc.

I do miss having two rival factions though, I think that takes a lot away from the game (though in reality it's probably a better idea not to have it). :(

Lastly, they NEED to add duelling, what's up with that.

I agree about duelling, a negative twist to that though is that a lot more focus will be put on one to one balance rather than the big battled like they want.

Little things that irritate me are no inspect option and no self name tagging, whhyyy!??!? :p

I agree re melee and the battles, it's one thing that has made me shy away a little. An option to fix might be a third dodge if you are melee equipped perhaps, that or just an option to tone down particle effects.

Umming and arring about getting this, very expensive for a digital copy! Wish there was a trial that could be used.

What's the playbility/lastability like? (Especially with the WoW expansion coming out). I've always played WOW but often felt I'm playing a single player game the worlds are so quiet (Medium servers I was on). Is GW2 any better?

Played for a few days and haven't touched it since. Don't plan to either. So just wait till it's cheaper i'd say.

My Mesmer having spent quite some time deciding on armor pieces and dyes, really like it :) I am missing the staff though to complete it~

I disagree on most main points :p

I found the dungeons great, I have always been in trinity games but I find the change away great. I only ran my first dungeon last night and off all the complaints I was dreading it. But hada guild group and worked as a team, sharing threat, healing and using boons we got through with no wipes and I think only 2 or 3 people got downed before getting quickly revived mid fight. Was a challenge and a nice change from the norm. That and the fact you need to travel to dungeons and meet up was a nice old school feeling :)

It wasn't CM was it? Caudecus's Manor is so trivially easy compared to any of the other dungeons it's pretty mind blowing.

My main gripes at the moment are just event bugs and a ton of the balancing. I hope one of the first things to be looked at is actually giving level appropriate rewards in lower level zones.

Some of the content is pretty solid - I think blazeridge and the iron marches are really cool zones, but there's just no comparison in rewards vs. Orr.

Last thing I'm surprised about is that - I was pretty disappointed in most of the large scale fights, but some of the small ones are really pretty fun, my favorite at the moment is still risen king / eye as melee - they're way more rewarding to play against and much better tuned, probably also helps that they aren't static.

Where is this armour you speak of? All I see is skin. I think you should get your money back.

Lol :p my previous set showed a lot more skin but looked full on 7lut, this shows it in style and I like the dye scheme :)

ColEx I have 278 hours played in total. Each character 1-80 took 27 hours (lowest) - 66 hours (highest) but at this point can realistically level a character 1-80 within a day as CM Story mode is now giving a level each 11 minutes if my group runs it (they buffed dungeon experience globally a couple of days ago) and I am not someone who levels alts even though may look like that, had a hard time deciding my class in this game given they don't follow traditional class system :p I had started on a Ranger, to Warrior, before settling on Mesmer

Only way I see that possible is a lot of either afking ingame or /dancing around :p as even being a very explorative player you'd be 80 if not very close having explored for 100 hours

Took a rather linear approach myself on the first character, kinda rule of touching a zone, must 100% it before leaving! :p

Is there some way to see how long you have been playing ? I only have 1 character at level 64 even though i've been on every day since the head start, so it boggles my mind how 1 person can have 3 level 80s.
