Guild Wars 2

Any immortals guys in here at the moment? I sent two emails to the email address asking to join but nobody has gotten back to me :(

Wab (Nemeses in game) is on now, send him a tell :)

Edit: Wab said you've filled out an application. Just whisper to an officer in game for an invite (Sengar, Blounty and Nemeses are all on I think)

I just tried the native mac os client for kicks on my air and it mustered a massive 20 fps on low settings lol. I'll stick to my gaming rig me thinks, not mention the laptop could cook an egg after ten minutes of Guild Wars 2!

Just a quick question, do you feel if the game was exactly as it was but had Raiding like in Wow etc....say 10 man...you would feel different?

There wasnt a stat increase with new gear, but the best looking stuff dropped from Hard Raiding?

Just interested.

I think WoW style raiding doesn't belong in this game, the dynamic boss events is what the game offers and i like that. I just don't like how simple the big epic boss events are, it gets boring to quickly, and not enough to keep people interested in the long run.

I think a lot of people will get bored of it sooner than expected, the PVE in the game is pretty dire. I know the game is focused around PVP, but the game also offers some form of PVE and that is a good chunk of game content that is crap.

Most people who say they are loving it are still in early stages of the game and haven't put much time into it compared to others who are bored already.

PVP alone is not enough to keep most people interested in this game.

That is my two cents on the matter.

Once you're done with the weeks raiding in WoW (2-4 hours roughly), what is there to do? Crafting and PvP, I'm not going to add Rep farming into the mix as that is now incorporated into the levelling process . That's no different to what's on offer in GW2, the only difference at the moment is that blizzard have 8 years worth of fine tuning and experience to fall back on so they have the time sink element down to a T.

GW2's 'end game' for want of a better word is Orr for those that PvE. I think that ANet need to look at how quickly people have been blitzing through and downing Zhaitan and make it harder, more of a time sink so to speak. The usual MMO end game is all about a time sink treadmill designed to keep those people that enjoy that experience playing, more commonly called raiding. As we don't have raiding in GW2 (yay!) Anet need to apply those same little hooks into Orr imo.

I honestly feel that the devs will get the balance right, maybe not with Orr and this elder dragon but the next one certainly.

The above is personal opinion I haven't gone into Orr yet, as I'm only a lowly level 30 on my main and 27 on my alt (finally decided on class, woot) :D

Handy thanks. Will see if I can look past the annoying colours.

Guys, I play a warrior for my main. I chose Jeweler and Cooking. Am I better to drop cooking for something like a weaponsmith for legendary items?
I would sooner stay as I am but there's a rumour the mats for legendary items are soulbound so you need to be both professions to craft said item.

You don't need to "drop" anything. You can only have two active professions at a time, but you don't lose levels in professions when you swap them out. Ditch Cooking for whatever now, and when you come back to it you'll be at the same level. It's therefore not a bad idea to max Cooking while levelling for XP, then swap it out for a gear crafting profession and switch back once a month to cook a month's supply of food.

Agree.....im only lvl 50 and im loving the game so far.

My only small gripes are that the bosses outside bosses/dragons are litterally tank and spank, so thus require no/little skill bar spaming your skills off cooldown...(saying that I havent been to Orr or any of the higher levels to see if this changes.) and I feel that removes some of the community as people have no reason to communicate, or create a form of tactic.....its just rush and smash.

And in complete contrast are the Dungeons that I find lack some way of controlling the enemies, through either CC or blinding to mitgate damage, as the mobs/trash litterally hit who they want and can 1 shot squishy's.

Im sure the devs will balance it over time as they will be learning as the game goes.

wab or any immortals has the mumble now got a password? as i have just done a fresh install on my pc when i have added the mumble chat room it added it fine and i can see the number of people in the room but when i try to enter it asks for a password and says: wrong password for registered users please help

Anyone on Gunnar's Hold interested in forming an explorable dungeon farming group, must be 80, have rare/exotic gear and access to team speak, will be using my guilds TS for dungeon runs.

I'd be interested in that (are you in GoC ?) but I'm also a warrior. Atm I'm running sword/shield / rifle, 10/20/30/0/10 with full rare Knight's Berserker... a lot of toughness but still doesn't feel tanky... you don't have auto-block at all... still trying to decide how to play the warrior at its best.
I only ran AC and CM storymode once each, no other dungeon yet; I need to find a good group of people to do things together.

Unless it's changed since the weekend it shouldn't do. Best to stick a message in the chat box on the immortals website (or ask in guild chat) I'll check when I get home.

It's a Air designed for light use, not gaming :/ What did you expect? :o

I love that error message :p it's never their fault!

I know right.

So far, I've had 'check your internet connection', 'cannot connect to login servers', 'please try later' oh and 'incorrect password'.

Guild Wars 2 ‏@GuildWars2

We are aware of the recent disconnect and login issue. Thank you for your continued patience while we look in to it. ^AT

At least they're aware I suppose.

Sorted this, but guys we have our own site for this :(

This game has been really **** the last week or so from being hacked and locked from my account for 3 days, to constant 'check your connection' message.

Glad to hear other people are getting the message. I wish they would just notifty us when things like this happen, I hate being left in the dark. If I knew how long it was going to be down for I would go do XYZ while im waiting.
