Failed my driving test today

It doesn't matter whether you pass first time or whether you pass on your 30th time (if that's even possible.)

Too many people take the test when they're not ready. I passed first time because I waited until I was good enough to know I had a solid chance of passing it.

It's not really that much of a lottery, even if other drivers on the road behave like morons you should know how to react sensibly. If you're a good driver and you're ready you should pass it.
 
I passed first time after 15 hours of lessons and about 2 hours in the car with mum.

BABYKILLER!!

Yet after 3 1/2 years of driving, with 2 of them spent on the roads as a professional driver, I've yet to have one accident, bump, scrape or anything! Being nervous is what stops most people passing first time.
 
Meh, passed 3rd time myself around 2 and a half years ago. Done in excess of 120,000 miles over that time though with no accidents or incidents at all. As above, it's just a case of being ready and properly prepared. On my first two attempts I clearly wasn't but I guess I have to be doing something right these days to have done more miles than most people do over 10 years with no incidents.
 
Its better not to pass first time, you'll never think you are above making mistakes

I failed my first test after working an 14 hour shift the day before, not the best idea

Got mine on 22nd oct, hell of a long waiting list it seems at the local test centres

Did a mock test with my instructor and got 2 minors only so I'm feeling confident. Got a good time too, 12:33, so everyone will be either in school or in work (hopefully!)
 
when I passed my test 8 years ago, I managed 1 minor and this was because the examiner marked me for approaching a zebra crossing and not looking properly or some crap.

He said at the end he marked me on that because there's no such thing as a perfect driver and could see that was the only thing he could mark me on.

Every driver is making mistakes, most of which arent of consequence.

Both drivers are the same. the attitude of the failed driver is probably more realistic after failing. ie. most young men dont need more confidence when driving they need less, fear is a mans best friend and 'failing' could be the best final lesson.
The other take would be to be god like, 1st is best and Im speaking a load of crap lol

Passed 1st time, 0 minors, 2 weeks ago. I guess my examiner wasn't on the same wavelengh as yours :)
 
I passed first time 5 years ago. I have since been in 5 minor collisions, 2 of those involving other cars, but with very little damage so no insurance claims. I have been stopped by the police for drifting round a roundabout (very badly) but no action taken. I also have no speeding fines, but more by luck than judgement.

All this stuff about being a better driver because you passed first/second time is nonsense. Your attitude is much more important. Don't forget that (all together now...) "The real learning stars after you pass your driving test" :o

My examiner asked me to turn my lights on near the end of my test but I didn't get a minor/major for it. I thought I had failed for sure, but he said it was still light enough to not have my lights on. Then why did he ask me to turn them on! :confused:

edit - I can't remember if it was raining or not.
 
Failed my car license first time, and my class 2 HGV and then my class 1 HGV!! :o

**** happens, especially on driving tests!!

i failed first time on a roundabout too. it was an island which had 3 one way roads coming off it and i (apparently) dawdled on the right of way thing.

??? forgetting to turn the lights on due to light rain was a minor for me, can't believe you got failed for that =/
